You are basically are countering your own argument. Immigrants earn citizenship mostly through skilled immigration. How are parents “earning” (your words) immigration. Canada’s immigration programs have been created to bring in highly skilled people and mostly balance out and aging population and a low birth rate. Most countries similar to Canada offer no immigration for parents and grandparents that include healthcare.

Not quite sure why this is funny. Most countries that are similar to Canada like Australia do not offer a parent immigration program that includes access to free healthcare. Most Canadians who have not been involved in immigration for the past decade or so have no idea this program exists. Although empathetic they probably will prefer for all current seniors to have access services and for all Canadians to get a family doctor before we add more seniors who likely will never work or pay taxes in Canada.
Absolutely no one has said that a person who immigrates and becomes a Canadian citizen is any less Canadian than those born here. While there are certainly people out there who believe that, they generally don't come to immigration forums such as this one to give or receive advice. Every single country has some, or a lot of, anti-immigrant sentiment; Canada is not certainly not unique for that and not even close to being the worst around.
Last year it took only 6 minutes 14 seconds till the quota is filled! Will they change the process this year, if not what to prepare? I am applying for grandparents this year

I am a permanent resident and am looking to sponsor my mother for the 2020 intake. As I was looking into the documents required for sponsorship I realised that my Date of Birth Certificate is required for proving my relationship to my mother and I do not have one. It is a humongous task to get one from India. Can II use my passport instead which clearly shows my parents names? Please advise. Thank you.

It’s only when people start dying on the waitlists for medical procedures and or surgeries and it makes the news everyday will the general population start to take note that maybe the government will start realizing the medical system can’t handle the influx of older people.
I get it that Canada’s population is growing older , however the government has to start funding the infrastructure if they want to continue with certain programs

Meanwhile Canadians want to destroy economic drivers because of climate change in order to reduce our GHG emissions which only represent 1.6% of global emissions.

It is incredulous that with unemployment at one of its lowest and the economy supposedly "strong" the federal finance minister puts a budget that forecasts a DEFICIT.
So if this is Canada during good times what happens when recession and turmoil hits?
Oh well. Canadians love to buy stuff on credit. They love their holiday loans.
So why are Canadians who are fiscally loose, keen to pile on debt out telling immigrants that the country shouldn't spend money on their parents?

Asking people to put a small amount of money in GICs does not really benefit the economy. The major way to benefit the economy is to work and pay taxes. You would have to work more than 5-10 years to offset some of the costs of just your healthcare unless you are one of those rare people who have no health problems, never goes to the doctor and dies in their sleep with no attempt at resuscitation.
Have you checked the oil prices recently or the amount of oil being pumped out of the ground in places like the US? That has nothing to do with Canada’s policy. You can’t blame all Alberta’s economic issues on environmentalists.
