He is an immigrant too but he must not spread hate and try not to educate people on immigration as we all know what migration is. Keep your thoughts within yourself unless you have some update to share. Thanks.
SHE is not an immigrant. I was born in Canada.

Please do point out where I was "spreading hate".

There ARE other options.
Yes - I should have explained more clearly. There are certainly other options - but I don't believe any that IRCC will consider. They will never go back to the time where there was no cap on applications since processing times rose to 10+ years. From an ease of administration perspective, FIFO or the lottery are the two realistic options. I don't think there is any chance IRCC will ever consider something more complex like a points system. Of course just because the FIFO and lottery processes didn't work before doesn't mean they are bad ideas. IRCC just managed them poorly. That's where there's an opportunity to improve.

Anyway - guess we'll see what's been decided soon. My vote is lottery. As bad as the lottery was - FIFO was worse IMO.

I am asking this question on behalf of a friend. Can anyone please share their experience if someone was able to sponsor their parents by living in Quebec temporarily. QC has less financial requirements and they only consider the last one year of financials.
You would need to move there and establish yourself there for a year or close to a year (i.e. living and working) to qualify. Your tax return needs to show you are a resident of this province. You would also want to make sure you continue to live while the application is being processed. So you're looking at spending around 2 years there - maybe a bit more.

Also would have to move not knowing if Quebec May change their policies. They have been changing many of their immigration policies recently. Also no guarantees you will get a spot the first time.

Everyone is now counting day by day to get the updates from CIC about this year PGP, same feeling as last year around this time!!!
One's view about immigration is one's opinion and that don't matter in here. What I find matter would be how to get to sponsor your parents. That's it, end of the story.
So GAME ON!!!

There was no promise that the PGP program will be released in the next days so there is no need to spend everyday stalking the website especially when there won’t be any time sensitive information released. Look daily and people need to relax this is a long process.

Why do we have PGP sponsorship program in Canada !!! We don't need this to burden our economy...probably someone needs to create awareness among fellow citizens

I don’t think most Canadians realize the program exists. There is such a disconnect between federal and provincial policies. Meanwhile we getting daily news articles about how we are far from meeting the capacity needed in hospitals and longterm care and the provinces are trying to cutback or reign in health spending.

It is a GAME now the way I see it. But between Lotto and Typing skill race, I vote for Lotto. But if you ask me, both are not good enough...

EVERYONE living in Canada is an Immigrant except the Natives. Just letting you know if you were not aware of that till today. You or your parents might have born here but your grandparents or their parents migrated from somewhere else to this Land of the Natives which was once known as "Kanata".

The natives didn't originate in Canada. Like everyone else, they came here at some point in the past. Also, Canada was never known as "kanata"; that is a word for village, not an actual name of a place. Just letting you know that in case you weren't aware.

I'm Canadian, not an immigrant, and will refer to myself as such. My spouse is from a different country and is an immigrant.

Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian.

Immigrants come here for a better life but not every aspiring immigrant is welcome in Canada either. Most of the immigrants land here via skilled immigration stream which is for people who add economic value to Canada and of course they get to enjoy Canadian life. People who have not seen the process and who have not been through the full cycle cannot appreciate how immigrants earn citizenship rather than getting it by virtue of being born here. This is same for all countries including Canada.
