Provide the names and dates of birth for each of the parents and grandparentsopens in new window you wish to sponsor. You won't need to provide the information of their non-accompanying spouse/partner OR dependent children.

Should I be giving names of my siblings or no ? They are dependent on my parents (i.e. age < 22)
Only Parents names (if sponsoring grandparents, then grandparents names) is needed in the inerest to sponsor form.
(see bold above)

So dependent children's names are not needed at this point.

Yes. you can update/correct your income tax return. Sometimes, this will trigger an audit for all your income of previous years.
And the updated NOA may not be available on time for you to submit for the application (in case you got picked in the lottery).
Be prepared to pay up your tax and possible penality.
Bad advice. Can't fool CRA. They will come after you.
I am NOT encouraging him/her to change income! If you read carefully, I was discouraging it... sigh.
Anyone can correct their tax return if it was acutally incorrectly filed.

Hi guys I have a couple of questions.

I am married living in Canada with my wife and son. My wife would be cosigning and we would be sponsoring my mom (widow), her common-law partner, and my 17 year old sister. We meet the income requirements. My questions are:

1. Where on the form does my wife put her information as a cosigner?

2. Where on the form do I mention the common-law partner and the dependent?

Hi, Unfortunately I entered my sibling information (age <22) in Parent section. I was double minded and i thought the information was not required for non accompanying dependent children and required for accompanying children. What is your advice. Should I either 1. Don't do any thing and clarify this if i am invited or 2. resubmit another one with just parent information. It does say that they will remove duplicate and keep the last entry thus expecting my corrected application will remain with them. Appreciate expert advice.

Guys, Need your opinions pls.

My question is related to minimum income requirement.

My 2019 and 2020 income is $150k+ for each year, my concern is 2018 income. I moved to Canada in August 2018 with a job on Day-1. I used to work for Global firm and was internally transferred to Canada in August 2018. My income was c. $40k just because I worked 4 months in Canada. (My case is different from people who were in Canada and worked full year with $40k income). I just worked 4 months for $40k.

I do understand I DO NOT meet requirements. Question is, what is the real consideration for them: To assess if person will be able to support the family in FUTURE or blindly going by policy? I have no problems in supporting them, just that timing wasn't right for 2018.

One more important factor: I have 2 children. When I moved to Canada, Canadian Government asked me to provide my 2018 income before coming to Canada and they calculated my Child Benefit based on my $170k income (before moving to Canada) and paid me peanuts for 2 years (Totally unfair but that's a different discussion).

Question: Is it fair that I was paid Child Benefit based on $170k income and now when it's time to show higher income, they'll only consider my $40k income?

They provided consideration to COVID, but I am good with COVID also. Would they consider my case?

If that's me, I would wait till you are invited to clarify detail about family members that's included in the application.

At the mean time, you can try contacting IRCC on social media to see if there's anything you can do.

I want to ask who hasn't submit their interest to sponsor their parents and grandparents to take their time. Make sure that they are eligable and have the correct information to fill in all the fields before they actually finalize and submit it.

It's not first come first serve. So entering it sooner may not make any difference to the chance of the lottery.
We took a few days to read, and re-read the form and make sure before we submitted it back in 2018. (the last lottery)
As long as it's before the deadline, I think the odds of being picked is the same.

Good luck for everyone

i have similar situation as you for 2016, i had only three months in Canada in 2016. so i skipped last year's PGP... if you are qualified after all, then i would like to kill myself for skipping last year..
