Permanent Resident Visa Authorization

Dear PMM,

Currently I'm in INDIA, my application was submitted in Buffalo (Before Feb 27) which was subsequently transfered to NYC, NY and few days back a got request for passport submisson for visa stamping along additional photos

For passport submission there are two option 1) In-person or 2) Mail-in and There is a "Permanent Resident Visa Authorisation form" sent by CIC, NYC which has a row for "Applicant's signature" and to confirm which option i would like to opt for.

I would opt for mail-in option:

My Question: My original form (Permanent Resident Visa Authorisation form) with file number tag pasted on it by CIC is in Canada per my mailing address. Would CIC accept signature on scanned copy of PRVA or CIC would need signature only on original form?

Original, how are you going to get your passport to NYC? You know it is illegal to mail passport in/out of India.
