Yes, I was at DM for a few days before.
It looks like I have been very lucky compared to other applicants who sent in their applications at around the same time as me. My application was in French, I don't know whether it made a difference.

I want to share my time line.
Application received on August 31st
Started processing, decision made and sent out to card production center on November 5th
Complete and sent out by mail on November 14th
Card received on November 23rd
84 days total.
This is renewal application and I did not send it as an urgent application.

Did end up applying for American visa? If so how long did that process take? I got my application returned to me on Friday. This is sooo frustrating.

My trip is booked for Dec 12.

For me it was because when I made a payment online for the application my computer shut off before I could print my receipt so I tried logging in to see the receipt there. When I checked my visa statement the transaction was there so I thought if I sent an invoice of that transaction with date/time/amount and transaction number plus an email from the web inquiry agent saying she could see the payment on my file would be enough to show proof but apparently it wasn’t enough. Now I’m 18 days away from my booked flight and no way out of here or back in.
Called and just got told me application was returned yesterday for being incomplete/ no further details
Well im going to try and get a mexican visa thats where my trip is booked for and then get a travel document while im there to return
Really sorry this happened to you chiefone; this is kind of what I was suspecting (or that your application was lost). Safe travels and hope the reapplication goes more smoothly.
I hope you are able to get an appointment with Mexican embassy. I called today because I’m in the exact same boat and was told that they probably won’t be able to book me an appointment until 2 weeks from now. They couldn’t even book me an appointment over the phone. We have to email someone and then they get back to us.
Have you thought about entering via land crossing from the US on your return trip to Canada? It's a worst case scenario but it's better than not being allowed to board your plane back because of an expired PR card.
