Permanent Residency "Serious Disease" Question

I have gone through surgery for IBD (Chron's disease) twice in last 4 years. I use medication called Aziron which is very cheap in price and will stop using that medication after couple of months as my doctor suggested that iam free from Chron's. But still its an recurring disease, will it cause any problem to my PR application? I have CRS score of 472 and about to start my PR process.

Can any one please suggest me what should i do during the course of medical test?

You can select Yes and can submit a letter from doctor mentioning that its under control now. In LOE you can provide link of the medicine that you are taking. Price of medicine that you take in routine will not matter as its anyways not paid by canadian government. They just pay for doctors consultstion. So should not be an issue.

1. What should i convey to doctor during the course of Medical test?
2. Will doctor propose any additional medical tests to be conducted?
3. As i am normal now, CIC would still consider for expensive treatment threshold?

My question is what to put it answer of Statutory question? I am asking this because I had selected it as NO while submission of profile as I asked in few forums and they said that it's not a serious disease.

I am just afraid it not to be a case of misrepresentation.

You should declare about any past serious illness. Did you took medication for long? Is the illness under control? Have you undergone medical as yet? If not declare it to your doctor.

I would select yes for many diseases: Cancer, type 1 diabetes, HIV, TB, hepatitis, copd, all sorts of autoimmune disease, autism, etc. If you have a life-altering disease that requires regular treatment I would consider that a serious disease. Some diseases may be missed by the health screening. Some doctors don't do a very thorough exam and some illnesses may not show on basic testing. What is ultimately important is the cost of treatment. The panel physicians and hopefully most people now know that HIV patients can now lead long productive lives if they seek treatment although AIDS often is life-limiting just significantly less than before. You also may be sent a procedural fairness letter and you may have to provide a breakdown of your health costs. Each HIV+ patient is different and some may be taking the latest combo medication that still is under patent or have other health issues. If you have already looked at your medical costs just think of it as a step in the process and not a refusal. Think you need to stop overthinking things and this is not an attack on HIV+ people.

May I please know if inactive tuberculosis is serious disease?

Sorry to interput but couldn't help myself.
It's usually IRCC that decide that TB is active or inactive. To declare it inactive they usually make an applicant take medication for 6 months or so and then by the advice of provincial doc.
If one declare TB or is found to have lumbs repeat xray over 6 months period and sputum is examined and then medical surveillance. Even though it is inactive doc usually trace it.
Happened with a friend so sharing experience. Hope it helps.

Tough to say will depend on your specific case. Won’t prevent you from getting to Canada but could delay.

I just passed my medicals. I did inform my doctor during the medical examination about my mild crohns condition. The doctor said it is not a problem. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.
