Permanent Residency Application Cancelled

Hi all,

My permanent residency application was cancelled this morning as I was missing a supporting document for my driving history (I have the document it just wasn't attached to my profile).

I'm a little taken back that they cancelled it straight out without giving me the opportunity to upload the document and now I will be required to submit an Express Entry profile all over again and wait to be accepted to apply. I also now have to wait for my Right for Permanent Residence Fee.

Is there anyway to dispute this and have my Permanent Residency application reactivated so that I can upload the required document?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, dude.

They seem to be doing this rather than asking for more documents. Can I ask what country you are from that needed the driving document?

I think the only way to fight this is through a lawyer. If you are 470 + points then I would just go through the motions again.

So sorry to hear that. When did you submit your application?

Australia, I lived two years in Victoria before I came here so they require a full license history (which I have and had submitted for my IEC application).

I think my points are around 490.

Please excuse my question: for PR they ask you to submit what type of documents regarding driving history?
Is it documents for all countries you have lived in and have gotten a drivers license? or only for the country you currently live in?

I'm not even sure how I missed it since I have the document. I think it was due to uploading an update police certificate and forgetting to attach the driving history.

Looks like I'll just have to re-apply which is frustrating given my current work permit expires in a month.

AFAIK, the driving history is specific to Australia.

I am sorry about the refusal. However, this was a mistake on your part(Yes, the R10 checks are extremely stringent) and IRCC is not going to re-open the case (They do re-open cases when the mistake is clearly on their part). I would suggest you to create a new profile, get another ITA and submit an application rather than going for a request to re-open the application. The chances are extremely unlikely to nil (practically impossible) to get your application re-opened if it is because of a missing document. It is not worth the time, IMO.

Rejection of the kind that happened to you are extremely annoying and unfair. You are given no chance to give additional information even if the officer has made the mistake. Had a case with PNP a few month ago where officer made a mistake reading a police certificate and they rejected our client's application after the ITA. Had to go through PNP extension and the entire ITA and submission process again just because of a mistake on their part. Took us a good 4 month to sort everything out and get submit it again. Further aggravating is when you do call CIC and all they say is "it's all Officer's discretion". Before this online system, they would call you and ask for more documents or clarification but now they reject outright. Mind bugling.

I accept that the error was mine, I just wanted to see if there was a chance to have it eye-opener.

I'm going to reapply and hopefully I can get lucky and have it processed in time to apply for a bridging visa.
