I'll be leaving from Karachi on 31st Aug.

@sacha pakistani: well they are an international airliner and still they act like a budget one :| All you get for free is water/juice (quantity is like a shot per request). And in the whole 4hours flight, I saw them for like 2/3 times shooting around and rest of the time, were busy selling meals (you even have to pay CAD3 to get a headphone for the entertainment system!!! And they have a very bad reputation of delaying the flight.

@afridi2482: you will not have to do the immigration at calgary airport; it will be done at the first point of entry (montreal/toronto). I have already described the experience in the other thread.

Oh since you will be flying from Heathrow to Calgary, I guess its Air Canada :P Man I just hope that they are at least good in international route.

Well cellphones are hell-listically expensive over here. I did not take it yet but is planning to take Telus. Mobilicity/kodoo/wind mobile are very cheap but they don't offer good contract mobile sets (I am planning to get iPhone :D) so I am not looking at them actually :P

I've already bought Samsung Galaxy S2.I recommend that you people also buy some good cellphone that have support of Google maps or any other navigator.
I've heard Wind mobile have cheap plans and they have good coverage in Ottawa.
Virgin mobile is also good.It covers nearly 95% of Canada but might be expensive.

Port of Entry is not bad at all in Toronto. For me it took two minutes. He asked if I had been to Canada before and how long was my period of studies. After I said two years he asked if it was my Masters and in what, he also asked why I chose Canada and where my University was. He told me that I can only work at the University and I must wait three months to apply for a work permit off campus. Then he wished me luck and sent me on my way. All I had to show my introduction letter, he did not care for my letter of admission.

Almost left my bag in airport. Helpful staff.. You all will like it.
