My friend passed the citizenship test

Right before the citizenship oath
His ex filed peacebond against him
And he went to the ceremony and didn't tell them that his ex filed peacebond against him
He got his citizenship

And after that when he went to court the peacebond was denied

Did he do wrong by not telling them about the peacebond at the ceremony

It was nothing else only peacebond section 810

And the peacebond was denied in court after

he didnt do anything wrong if he wasnt asked verbally or in written form. But if he lied in form or verbally oh boy he is in trouble and could lose it any time or any moment if they discover now or later 20 yrs from. I would stay away from that ex forlife so she doesnt sn7tch on me or tell anyone else even mom or dad for good.

Peacebond is not a criminal offence
And, it doesn't stop the person from getting his citizenship

Does the applicant have to tell the immigration before the Oath that his ex try to get peacebond against him
What does the law say here

If peacebond section 810 is not relating to, an offence under the Citizenship Act or an indictable offence in Canada

Why would he say anything about it to the immigration before the Oath

To take the Oath of Citizenship, you must meet all of the eligibility requirements for citizenship until the time you take the Oath.

After we approve your application, you may not be able to take the Oath and become a citizen if you:

• lose permanent resident status
• have been asked by Canadian officials to leave Canada (removal order)
