I am an Indian citizen and will be applying for citizenship in March. Before landing in Canada, I worked in Singapore for almost 2 years. I saw that citizenship application requires a Police certificate if I lived in a country for 183 days in a row in the past 4 years.

I also saw this note:

"Note: If you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada and this time falls within this four year period, you are NOT required to provide a police certificate. Please indicate this in the explanation box."

Is my country of origin Singapore or India? Do I need a Singapore PCC for citizenship application? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Have you left Canada after landing? and stayed outside for more than 183 days? then yes, you have to provide PCC. If you have never left after landing, then you don't have to assuming you never left country of origin to any other country.

As an Indian citizen your (original) country of origin is India.

So I did a soft landing for a week and then went back to Singapore for about 6 1/2 months so in this case I do have to get the PCC from Singapore
