Hi

I sent my documents by mail to Indian consulate Chicago 2 weeks ago. I didn't see any change in my return tracking envelope so I called them up today. The guy who picked up the phone said it will take 1.5 months to issue a PCC since my passport was issued in India. Has anyone else faced this? Other consulates do it in 2 weeks and I've seen people get it from Chicago in the same time. Anyone who got their PCC recently from Chicago can comment on this?

Thanks
How did you call them? Is there an email address I can use

Did you send photos along with the personal form to Chicago?

I am planning to apply for my PCC at chicago and while reading through consulate website i saw below statement and got confused:-
  • The Consulate does not attest any document issued by authorities in India. If any document issued by authorities in India (such as birth and death certificates, affidavits, diplomas, marriage certificate and educational certificates issued by authorities in India ) are required to be presented to authorities in USA, these should be apostilled in India. For details, please check the “Legalization of Documents and Implementation of the 'Apostille' Convention” section of the Ministry of External Affair's website.
As all our documents (birth certificate, affidavits, marriage certificates) are issued by authorities in india so what does this statement implies?

Ignore ... not applicable for your PCC application.

I am planing to apply for PCC at Chicago and need clarification if we need to fill Misc application form and Personal particular form both or just Misc application form? I am an Indian citizen, currently in US and passport issued in India.
