Hi there,
I'm hoping someone can help clarify payment methods.
Firstly, this will be the second time I pay a processing fee to the Canadian High Commission. I applied for Permanent Residency nearly 2 years ago, but as my status has changed (I'm getting married in August), I'm assuming that this was the reason the Canadian High Commission requested me to fill out a new generic application, a new New Schedule 1 for myself and my common-law partner (soon to be spouse), and send a new processing fee for both of us.
The methods of payment indicate that they only accept Bank Drafts in Canadian dollars. Fine.
However, under the "We Do Not Accept" section, it clearly states that Canadian Dollar drafts drawn on banks OUTSIDE of Canada are not acceptable!
Well, how am I going to get them Canadian Dollar drafts from a bank in the UK - isn't that outside of Canada? The first time I payed the processing fee, I went to Thomas Cook (in Dubai) and that was acceptable. I'm unsure now as to whether this is a new rule, or can I just do the same thing again? Does this also mean that I am unable to ask my local HSBC in London to issue a banker's draft in Canadian dollars?
Any help / advice is greatly appreciated.
