Passports to CPC Ottawa- June 2017

Passport delivered to CIC on June 28, approved on July 12, and I am expecting to receive my passports by tomorrow morning.

I want to share with you about my case. After I send my passport to Ottawa, I booked an international flight ticket to go back to my home country for my own wedding. At that time, I thought the passport will be sent back to me within two weeks, until I found out that there is a huge delay recently. Yesterday, I called CIC and explained the situation I am in, and the agent I spoke to add a note in my profile and send it to the processing center. The agent told me she cannot guarantee they will expedite my case, and she also warned me that there is a possibility the processing center might send my passport back without the visa and stamps. This morning, I received an email from the processing center and the officer told me that my documents are ready to send back to me. In addition, she advised that I should consider the FedEx overnight shipping, as the passport won’t make it back to me in time if I choose to use my original return shipping method. Then I emailed her back to confirm that my passport is stamped with visa and CoPR, she replied yes within 10 mins. Shortly after that, I checked MyCIC and my application was approved. Now I have ordered the FedEx overnight shipping and send the label to the agent, if they send it back to me today, it should be delivered to me tomorrow morning. Personally, I won’t suggest everybody to try this method unless you truly have an emergence, because you might receive an empty passport. Good luck

Thanks for sharing this info. I have two more weeks for travel. My application is approved on 8th July and waiting for the tracker to get updated. Would contact CIC if i dont see an update till end of this week.

Guys finally they sent my passport back to me today and it is in transit now.Even I got an email that they have shipped today but just wondering why my application in my cic account is all in progress.
Any body had same issue before please reply me.

It takes a while for application to get updated.
I got an email from CPC that they have shipped my passport. But the tracker is not enabled yet. How long did take to get your tracker enabled?

As soon as I got an email from CPC Ottawa,I checked my documents right away and it is on transist.That means it should be approved by today or tomorrow.

Just overnight as I live in Ottawa. I need to find out the options available to validate the CoPR as the next available day will be July 25th but my work permit expires on July 15th. And I cannot go cross the border to the USA at this time.

I think they only request for passport if ur application is approved. Maybe its delayed or might take some time .

You can flagpole to US side. Which means you don't visa or anything. You cross the border and tell the guard on the US side that you are flag poling. They will give a piece of paper, take that back to Canadian side and finish your landing.

Unfortunately, flagpoling is not an option. Cannot risk any further implication with the US without valid documents.

Can you rent a boat may be? Go into international waters and come back? M just throwing ideas now.

Actually not a bad idea. I guess the closest international water will be the Atlantic ocean.
