For people who at waiting for more than 3 weeks, I would recommend to email them as well in addition to calling CIC so that at least you have something in writing and email might be accessible to more staff at CIC than calling and speaking with one agent.
I agree but wouldnt it have a negative effect on the application ? Just a thought ideas invited...

They have already taken 3 weeks, so I don't think it should have any negative impact but hoping that it should expedite the application. It is really difficult to be in a foreign country without your passport for almost a month
I heard that someone in 2014 sent email to CIC pushing them to process the passport and it turned out she got her passport back without COPR lol

Perfect, even after having passport for more than 3 weeks !!! Problem is there is no kind of update on your application to show if COPR is printed or not, which is crazy I believe.

I was told yesterday by an agent that returning the passport without the COPR is an option for people who needs the passport back for some urgent reason. So could have been a misunderstanding. I don't think it is a problem to call them and asking for the status.

There is no negative impact involved regarding your application, as your application is already approved when the ask for the passport, I have my GCSM notes having approved status even before the date i was asked for passport and call center rep also told me the same. Only impact is if you email them then one of worker have to spend time reading the email and replying to them, which could further delay the processing as inefficient ise of time. So, if you are really need your docs early only then email them and with proof otherwise just sit and wait and consider yourself lucky as 6 month processing time for PR app is nothing compare to the previous system.

agree to the time line of 6 months or less.

My passport was delivered on 14th July. Its been over a month now. No updates what-so-ever. I tried reaching them via phone but everytime I call I get a message stating that "due to high call volume, you cannot be connected to an agent at this time". What do I do?

14th july is a long time. Did you try emailing them?

Yes, I sent it from US. The application status is still "in progress" on MyCIC even after receiving the PPR email .

Yes, it will stay like that until your passport is stamped. May be you can email them on the email address mentioned in the PPR email asking about status if you did not get any luck by calling CIC.

Do you guys know when should I expect to receive passport back after the following email? I am PNP Inland, passport sent on 20th of July.

Your passport has been received at our office and will be returned to you shortly.

Your documents will be returned using the provided Xpresspost envelope. If you have followed the instructions on the website and kept note of the tracking number, you should be able to follow its delivery on the Canada Post website.

We thank you for your patience.
