PASSPORTS TO CPC-OTTAWA in May 2016

Hello guys,
Here is my timeline.

PP sent - May 09, 2016
PP Received in Ottawa - May 12, 2016
Waiting to get the PP stamped...

Its strange why CIC is taking so many days to stamp and send the passports. The people who got their visa are saying they were stamped the very next day the passports were delivered to CIC. In that case I dont know the reason for this uncertain wait.

These may have been people who were visa exempt and therefore only send copies of their passports. I was only 1 week from when I sent my documents to when I rec'd CoPR.

Do you guys know if the item number works as a tracking number? (it looks like: XY9999999CA, letters and numbers)

That's the only number I have on the peeled label from the return envelope I sent along with the PP.

That's what you need. Put the whole thing in the box for tracking number, if it can't find it, it probably hasn't been activated yet.

I had sent my passport for copr on may 4 2016, but canada post tracking shows it did not reach cic yet.

My passport was received at CPC-O by "J Thomas". Anyone with the same signature on delivery confirmation?

It happens. When they do bulk delivery sometimes it takes time for them to update the trackers.

PP delivered May 10th- Non-Visa exempt

Should I be expecting an email confirmation of case closed? Or do I have to login to Mycic and check?

Login and check in My cic. Mine was delivered on May 6th, No update in My CIC as of now. My friend's PP delivered on May 4th. His application is approved and closed in My CIC.
