Hello guys, I just did my landing today at Fort Erie, ON. A while back, you could just make a u turn at the border and complete the landing process without going to the US at Fort Erie(thats why I chose this location) but now you have to actually go to the US. Its ok even if you dont have a US visa as they know you are crossing the bridge just to return back to Canada to finish landing process. They give you a paper "refusal for entry" but it is not an official refusal letter and it is just a thing that they do at the border which proves you left Canada.
The CBSA at this locaiton is very friendly - all they asked for was Passport, COPR, and POF (bank statement).
Afterall, I got my permanent residency status
Thanks all
