Landed last night. Officially a Canadian PR :)

My landing experience at Prescott: I drove from Ottawa with two of my friends (both Canadian citizens-immigrants) at around 6:30pm, arrived there in about an hour. There was only one car in front of us which was surprising being a Friday night right before the March break in Canada. An officer asked us about the citizenship and passports. Then she asked us to follow another officer who showed me where to park the car and where the office was. We went into the office and asked for the paperwork. He checked them and in about half an hour gave me a refusal letter and described how does that work. In general, neither of US officers was nice and at some point we felt they have been trying giving us a hard time. We drove back to the Canadian side and asked again same questions. Then we went into the office, passed all the papers, and signed on the CoPRs. I have been asked for Passport, CoPRs, work permit, previous expired study permits (which I have not brought them but asked me to destroy them), US refusal letter, and it took them about 20 minutes to come back to us. The guy was very welcoming and explained where should I apply for new SIN, OHIP, driver license and even the new laws for the citizenship.

For me it was a long journey started in 2013 when I could have applied for Ontario nominee. I made some mistakes taking it too easy at the first but I also could have been more lucky at some other parts. I wish everyone here waiting, a smooth journey towards getting Canadian Permanent Residency.

Hi everyone.

Ottawa office received my passport on March 11. Any clue when can I expect passports back with the stamp and required docs? I live in Toronto and am CEC Inland.

I am planning to travel, but want to ensure I complete all formalities before I travel.

Thanks in advance.

Today I did my landing at rainbow bridge..it was very quick..it took around 20 to 25 mins to cross the boarder and come back to complete landing..my PR process is now ends here..

Me too did landing at Rainbow bridge today .....Drove to Niagara ... parked my car and walked on Rainbow bridge ( my wife wanted to cross the border by walk :) ) US side officer just asked me the purpose of visit i said we are here for flag polling.. he gave me one white paper "entry refused" reason flag polling ... cross the bridge again and came back to Canada side where the lady gave me yellow paper and asked me to to go to immigration office on other side of the road .... went inside the hall was full of people... i gave my paper and waited for around 1 hr ...then my name was called ... she asked for landing papers (COPR) and driving licence to just write down the address .... asked t wait again .. and this wait was just 5 minutes ... then she asked 3 questions.....ever went to jail .. convicted for any crime ...etc .. and then said now you are "Permanent Resident" ...yeeeee
so now i will wait for around 2 months for PR card to arrive in my mailbox ..... :) :) :)
Finally i must thanks each and every member of this forum who helped me directly/indirectly ...without whom it would not have been possible ... Thank You Every one ... and Good Luck !!!
