PASSPORTS TO CPC-OTTAWA in April 2016

Hello Everyone!

Suggestion needed. I just got PPR. The problem is that I have my CFA exam on June 4, 2016 for which I need the passport (no exception or no other ID accepted). What do you guys recommend? Should I send the passport because if I wait I will be on the borderline of 30 days limit. From this forum it seems like on average it takes not more than 2 weeks.

If you send it now, you're likely to get it back in time. You could put a letter in with your documents explaining the situation and asking them to expedite it. Maybe enclose a copy of what you have that details a passport is the only form of ID that will be accepted for the exam.

Update in MyCIC: Application closed and approved. Hopefully will get the passport back within this week.

Received COPR on May 4!

Timeline:
PPR April 20
Passports/Pictures sent April 20
Tracker activated on April 29

I live in Toronto, so I called CIC to book an appt at the CIC office in Etobicoke. They emailed me the next day that my husband and I have an appt on May 13.

Question, in the document sent with COPR, they mention having to bring 2 photos. With the COPR, they attached the 2 photos that we submitted on April 20 with passports. Do we need extras or are those 2 pictures all they need?

Update, passport delivered to CIC on April 25, tracker activated on May 6. So excited~

It didn't change to approved and closed.
It says decision made.

Right on the status of the application " Approved" ... instead of Submitted. Everyone is posting that after their application changed to Approved state, then tracker activated after 2 business days. Thats the reason I am waiting for any changes to happen on CIC account first. Since PPR, no changes happened on my account.

Guys, can anyone give your comments on the Photo request? Do we require extra 2 photos?

They asked me for 2 additional photos during landing (landed at local IRCC office last week), even though I have had already submitted 2 for my PPR in the right format (50mmx70mm). So YES, make sure you got them, as otherwise you risk delaying the landing, and it's not worth it for an additional $20 max that you pay for the photos.
