Passports to CIC Ottawa: March 2017

Thank you and congratulations to you as well. I am waiting for an appointment date for landing at the Saskatoon CIC office. If I don't get a call by the end of this week I will drive to the North Portal border and flagpole there. How bout you?

You sent your passport on Monday, so when did it arrive there? I thought it usually takes 2 days

Actually I dropped my passport at Canada Post on Saturday morning (March 17) but I was told that the parcel would be picked up early Monday morning. It was supposed to be delivered in Ottawa today, but they did it in one day.

I live in BC so I may just go do my landing at one of the borders when I get my passport back

Okay that makes sense. They must have prepared it for pick up over the weekend. Good luck with landing

My application was approved on Monday but no update on tracker activation.
Any idea if this could take long for some people?

I forgot to note down the tracking no of the return envelope. I went back to Canada Post and unfortunately they do not keep a record of the tracking number unless it has been activated. Guess I have to just hope it comes in well. Toronto <-> Ottawa usually takes no more than 2 days

NO, you do not need a US Visa. Just tell the officer at the border that you are 'flagpoling'.

Passport Received: Expecting it today based on tracker information

I had to call IRCC Ottawa yesterday to confirm the status of my passport and the call center agent told me it was sent out on Monday, March 20th, same day as the approval. So I guess it is based on the pick up by Canada post and how IRCC gives out the "ready to post' envelopes.

Congratulations to us all and all the best to those who are still waiting....It will rain by God's grace.

Guys who received their PP back, is there any communication from CIC once it is approved and sent out? As in to let us know it is sent out? (reason I ask is I forgot to note down tracking no of return envelope)
