My landing experience was easier and smoother than I thought. I flag poled on foot at Point Roberts/Boundary Bay border at around 7pm.
A friend dropped me off and I walked literally 4 mins to the US border and was asked what I wanted to do and I said flagpole and active my PR. He gave me a white rejection slip (ps: I have a US visa but didnt mention as the rejection was just on the white paper) and asked me to come into the office. I came in and waited for about 5 mins and another officer came and attended to me. He checked my passport and asked me a few questions and directed me to the Canadian side which is another 2 min walk.
On the Canadian side, I handed the officer my COPR, passport and work permit. He took them in and came back about 5 mins later. Asked me some basic questions. Made a copy of my work permit and made a hole in the original one and said I no longer needed it. Told me what being a PR entails and went over a 2-page handout with me. I asked about the incorrect last date of entry on my COPR but he said it wasn't an issue. He told me the card could take up to 12 weeks to arrive. They were all nice and friendly at every point (thank God!).
I walked out of there in about 15 minutes a Permanent Resident!!
