Passports to CIC Ottawa: March 2017

When is your appointment? I've been thinking to do my landing here in Halifax at a CIC office as well, but I'm not sure how long I have to wait for an appointment.

I received my PPR email today, planning on sending the passport to Ottawa on Saturday

I am still waiting for an appointment. IRCC agent told me it could take 6-8 weeks to get one. If I do not hear from CIC Edmonton by the end of next week, I will go to a border to do flag-polling at a CBSA office.

Yours was fast, my passort arrived Ottawa on Mar. 17th as well but no changes yet to my profile status.

I will suggest you leave it till tomorrow morning and check the tracking number for your return envelope if you used one.

Yup it's activated at night.
So just check tonight and if nothing, tomorrow night.

My dates are as follows:

PPR: March 9
PP sent: March 13
PP received in Ottawa: March 16
Return Tracker activated: March 17

I can't see the status of my application online as I haven't linked my account with CIC. But here is where things get weird:
Canada Post rescheduled my delivery without any reason today. I called them up and mentioned that it is my passport so would like to have an update on the delivery time. They were very cryptic and asked me to wait one more day or contact ask "Passport Canada" to contact Canada post with a service ticket number. I mentioned to them that Passport Canada has nothing to do with the application and it was CIC which was handling it. But they still kept repeating "Contact Passport Canada".
The fact that the return tracker was activated the very next day of receiving the passport at Ottawa looks too good to be true - as the average proccessing time I've seen is at least 7 days.
So I'm wondering whether CPC accidently used my return envelope for another applicant's passport return. Has anyone come across a similar scenario? Any advice?

Sorry, just saw the question. The application status changed to "Your application was approved" right after they received the pp, and they dispatched the pp back to my address on the third day.

True! It was beyond my expectation. I was looking at 2 weeks to get my pp and COPR back.

Application status changed to approved yesterday: March 20th
But I am yet to see my Canada post tracker activated.
Are you under CEC Stream? If yes, did you use CanadaPost Xpress?
