I am trying so hard to understand why IRCC is keeping my son’s passport for more than three months just for visa stamping in Accra. It makes no sense at all especially when I know all processes were completed before they requested for the passport. What exactly is wrong with them?

Can you get in touch with ur MP so they get to the bottom of it? Keeping the passport for that long isn’t fair

That's the worst part - no communication. So we're left to assume all sorts. Did you add a baby/dependent by any chance? I noticed a trend with a few applicants that did (including myself) who sent in Feb and are still waiting. In my case I added about a month before the ppr email came, most of the others added after the ppr and are still waiting.
No I did not,but I did submit Schedule A form after submitting my passport,so I am wondering how they allowed me submit passport only to send an ADR after 18 days,and since then,no communication,I tell you it's really worrisome
I was lucky to get hold of the IRCC call Center agent and she told me I have to wait and be patient till Accra visa office respond to my application. Like seriously after three months just for visa stamping? . That there is nothing they can do when an application is processed outside of Canada. That then made me realize something is not right.
Because of what transpired between me and the agent , I have drafted an email, but I wait till tomorrow if I don’t hear from them I will send it to my local MP.
These people are not treating us with respect.
I agree there needs to be a standard processing time given to ALL international visa offices. Shouldn’t be that some ppl get theirs in days and others are expected to wait weeks or months because we’re in a country that’s overworked or less efficient. Something really isn’t right. I hope ur MP can look into it and get some answers for u
Finally today received the email that passport has been sent from visa office via DHL to the return address.
Timeline:
PPR Feb 22
Mailed passport Feb 23
Vfs received and sent to IRCC Feb 24
IRCC received and started process Mar 3
Passport mailed back to vfs and then vfs to me Mar 24.
Hopefully it will be available for pick up at the address soon. Praying that we all continue to get good news before this month is over. I’ve observed that updates come in on Thursdays and Fridays so hopefully tomorrow brings something good.

Your processed passport is ready for collection , on 2022/03/24 at the Canada Visa Application Centre. Your decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Wow people just look the level of mismanagement these guys are doing. I am speechless.
After i got this mail i called up VFS Nigeria helpline on Tuesday and the agent confirmed that my passport had indeed reached Lagos and was being handed over to UPS for delivery to my home and i should get it in a couple of days.
Relieved that i can finally travel and meet my family, which i have been desperately pleading with these guys, I booked for the weekend (assuming that it won't take more than 4 days for UPS to deliver it to me in Lagos).
Now, yesterday when I called up the VFS Helpline for update, I was told that the email notification to me was sent out by mistake and even the agent who confirmed the status of my passport did it by mistake, and the passport is not even in Lagos yet.
I just now cancelled my flight tickets just now which cost me 400 USD cancellation fee with another long emotionally draining for the passport wait in sight.
I cant believe what is happening and they will get away with it without any consequences.
I am now not only in the 8th week of waiting for my passport now i also pay 400 USD for a mistake they committed. Feeling really helpless right now
This is weird! so sorry, I wonder how they can make such a big mistake. I think u should write IRCC
I have written to everybody. There is no response from CIO also. Is there any particular email for IRCC you are suggesting?
Have they delivered you the passport to you and has your GC key account been updated if i may ask?
No, i have not received my passport, i only got the message yesterday so i suspect is still in transit.
