I need some helps regarding some issues I encountered after I applied for study Visa in Canada. I did everything supposedly and everything went well. I did the biometric and the medical. A month ago, I was told to send my passport for finalization. Surprisingly, I received an empty passport with no stamp or visa. I have been checking online and the status is showing it is still in progress. Everyone says that as they ask me to provide a passport, that means I am approved for the visa. The online status is still showing that my case is in progress. I need a help figuring out what are my next steps.
How on earth did they requested for ur passport for finalizing of ur application and returned it without stamping. Did they give any explanation why cos it looks strange!
You are exempt from the restrictions so I don't understand the delay. Contact them via email.
Yes, that economic immigrants aren't allowed to travel at this time. You are applying for a study permit so this doesn't apply to you.
It really frustrating. Didn't hear anything until last week when my bank called saying they have received a mail from the Embassy to confirm if my statement is legit!! I mean how???
They did not give any explanation. I just received an empty passport in the DHL bag with no letter. And the status on the CIC is still showing that the case is still in progress.
Yes. Was very straight forward, no issues at all. Sent using DHL Lagos to Accra VFS directly. Got it back in exactly two weeks. Received Passport Request on 10th February. Sent passports Feb 15, got 'dispatched to IRCC' mail on Feb 17. Decision made email Feb 25 - was a Thursday. Delivered back to Lagos Monday, March 1.
Hi Shineone, Congratulations. Please did you have to also pay Accra VFS for transmission to IRCC (Visa Office). If so, how did you go about if from Nigeria? Thank you.
Hi! I paid the 'transmission fee' of Cedis 378(per person), covers all 'transmissions' including the courier bringing your passport back to Nigeria. On how I went about it, I have a friend in Ghana who paid via his bank account. The other alternative is paying from here in Nigeria. You'd have to use a local bank say UBA or Ecobank. When I made my enquiries at the time, I was told I would need to pay the dollar equivalent in the bank, due to dollar scarcity (international transfers are settled in dollars - the bank basically did not want to use their dollars).
