Hi Bryanna

I had applied online visa for my parents on 15th August, they are visiting there too see their relatives. They have been to US several times and once earlier to Canada as well. The current status is "updated" and the file number has been generated. They are due to fly to US on the 30th .Do you think it is possible that they fly to US and stay there for a week or so and in the meanwhile of they are requested the passport then the same can be submmited at NY office and it can be stamped and returned.

Thanks..

Realistically speaking, it could take a bit more than one week for visa stamping in the US. How long would they be staying in the US?

Hi Bryanna

Thanks for the prompt reply.
They would be there for sometime and anyways they would drive to Canada with their relatives so it's kind of flexibile.
Could you suggest me few things:
1. Do I just walk in to Canada Visa Centre and submit passport along with pass port request ?
2. Considering the online application date of 15th ,by when do you think I can have the passport stamped .
3. For the CAN + category ,will they be able to figure out my US Visa through my passport by themselves.

Thanks

Yes, you can.

More than the visa stamping, you should wait for passport requests first.

You can email the relevant India visa office ASAP (do attach the scanned US visa + US tickets) and request the visa office for expedited decisions. If you're lucky to get passport requests in the next few days, your parents can contact the NY VAC to confirm passport submission (this is routine/doable).

3. For the CAN + category ,will they be able to figure out my US Visa through my passport by themselves
Are you referring to your parents' US visas or your visa?

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

So I have moved the dates to fly to US to 15th Sep, should be done by then,HOPFULLY..!!
I have sent them several mails with all details but have received only an automated reply.- Any special way of going about it.?
I mean the US visa on parent's passports. Canadian Visa Officer should be able to judge their US visa and travel history. through their passport number, right.?

Thanks

Did you send Case Specific Enquiries or emails?

It would be best if you state their US visa + intended travel details in the email

Hi

Sent them mail about 4 days back and no reply.Hope they take a note of it and I don't have to postpone their flight again..

This has been such a stressful experience,I just wonder if applying through VFS would have been better.

Thanks

Has the 'Final decision' status been updated? When did you submit her passport?

Thanks for replying... Yes final decision status been updated sent passport on Aug 10 ,2017
Hope 'Final decision' says 'Approved/closed'.

You should contact Delhi VFS because the visa office would have returned your mom's passport through them.... especially if you opted to collect the passport in-person.... else do ask VFS for the tracking details and check with Blue Dart Couriers

There's just one number in general to contact VFS (not for VFS Delhi):
Helpline number: 022-67866002 (8:00 hrs – 17:00 hrs Monday to Friday excluding declared holidays)

Helpline email: info.canada@vfshelpline.com

Your husband cannot influence a visa decision. Also, the visa office does not take calls from applicants/sponsors.

If your husband wants to stop your mom from coming over, he would need to cancel his sponsorship/financial support for her super visa before the visa is issued.

It's possible that the delay is due to holidays

Don't worry :)
