Called today and they confirmed my passport was sent yesterday but tracker is still not activated.

Approved on 28 Oct.

Cic received my passport on oct 9th. I called them them today the agent said she had no update on my passport, she said she requested information and could take Upto a month for them to come back with an update. I was shocked after learning about this. Any recommendations?

You should not wait for a month, try to call and follow up next week. I called them today as well for the second time to follow up. The agent said he will request to speed up the process as he verified all the information and note down the canadapost tracker delivered on Oct. 7th. I called last week and there was nothing to verify only confirmed that nothing was missing.

where did you send it from. I sent from USA, delivered on Oct 9th, still no update.
I tried to call them from Text me app and used area code 514 dialed in 888-242-2100 , but unable to reach them.

I suggest calling with the +1 and just be super polite, it goes a long way. I did that and the agent even gave me my tracking number.

Thanks! I will do that but for now I will wait for a couple of days and see if there will be an update on my gckey. The agent I have talked today said that he will follow up our application process.
