Passport sent back - Damaged

hi everybody

my wife's passport has been damaged and sent back to us by CHC, ND requesting to apply for a new passport and resubmit within 45 days. I guess there is a first time for everything. Has anybody else encountered this kind of situation. Guess I will have to wait for some time now to get my visa as it will take some time to send it back to CHC, ND.

I have exactly no clue as to what happened. Hopefully, by this week itself I will get the passport and will know about the facts. Anybody who can throw some light in this matter. I wonder will I have to wait all over again or will they react quickly once they get the passport. CHC, ND had sent it to my consultant on Feb 23. What my consultant said was when they tried to stamp the visa the lamination peeled off which is why they requested to apply for a new passport I guess or since it is an old passport (approx around 8-10 years back when they used to write it and give rather than the new computerized method - maybe they dont trust the hand written passport). I have to wait and see.

Ps.: Don't worry... the soonest u send the new Pp, it will be stamped in approx 4 weeks max.

Apply for Passport in Tadkal and send it across as soon as u get it.

u hav to act with a good speed now, u can get PP within 10-15 days on tatkal seva.

Sorry to hear about it.

But it is strange that i have also got reply through mail from CHC ND. They said that they have not received medical of my 4 years old daughter.
I contact my DMP, they said that they had sent all medicals in one cover and sent the same to ND. They also gave me the docket number.

Let us see what happened......?

You don't worry. Just apply for new PP under TATKAL scheme and send the same to CHC ND.
Sooner you will send it, better will be the result.

:-(......Brother as soon as you get the passport back apply it in Tatkaal and the passport will be delivered to you withing 10-15 days. I know the case has been delayed, but do not worry Visa will be definitely issued.

As all members already adviced, I would say apply in Tatkal and carry the request letter from CHC ND,that will help to get PP ASAP

This is the current case scenario.

I had collected my passport from my agency. Its clearly visible that the laminate had peeled off, but was surely okay when I submitted to CHC, ND. Anyways, yesterday went to Passport Office and applied under TATKAAL. They said they would post it by today.

But guys, I got one thing that is really bugging me. Could anyone throw some light on this matter. The old passport had been returned after stamping "CANCELED." My doubt is I had done PCC on the old passport. Will I have to reapply for PCC since the old passport had been canceled. But then those kind of checkings have been over I guess. I called up my agency and they said no need for PCC. I am not sure about that. Anybody who has had a similar experience, please share your thoughts. Would really help me save a lot of time rather than sending it now to CHC, ND and then coming back again for want of PCC on the new passport.

No PCC is not required if the original report (the one that was sent when you got your passport made) didn't had any problems. Else, in Tatkal they send you the passport and then conduct the PCC. But, this is only done if the original first report had any issues.

Thanks a lot blueboy. Well then, I better submit my Passport as fast as possible to my consultant when I get it, which they will forward to CHC, and hopefully get my visa pretty soon. Anybody got any idea as to how long will it take. Coz it was exactly 2 months (Feb 23rd) after which CHC sent a mail for re-application for passport due to damage and 45 days timeline. Already 14 days passed by. Hope it comes fast and reaches CHC fast.

Hopefully they will give your application due consideration since it is at the final stage. I don't think you need to worry about PCC either since they were at the stage of stamping after all background checks. Send the passports ASAP and hope you get them back with the visas within 2 weeks!
