Passport requested for visitor visa. Can i send a new passport?

Hello All

My sister's visitor visa finally got approved after a long wait. She got a passport request and now has one month to send her passport.

her current passport is expiring in 6 months so she recently applied for a renewal of her passport and yet to receive it in a few days. Wondering if we could send a new passport to VFS instead of old passport so she could get the visitor visa till her passport expiry?

Please clarify this for me

No, she cannot. Have to use the passport she used for the application.

thanks but on the VFS website, its specifically asking " are you sending the same passport"

just curious why would they ask if they dont accept new passports from the same applicant and by the way, the new passport will have the old passport number too just as a reference

Yes, you can send a new passport. People get passports renewed all the time .

If in doubt, ask vfs.
