Hey Guys,
My parents received their passport request a week ago after we re-applied for their visitors visa on September 14, 2021. Our first application was submitted on June 2021.
They both are fully vaccinated but the vaccine is not approved in Canada. It looks like they need to apply for compassionate entry? At least that's what I gather from filling the questionnaire and reading through the link https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/foreign-no-symptoms-compassion
Anyone has been in such situation? Any suggestions would be very helpful. My parents are visiting us because my wife is pregnant with our first child.
Please advise.
Thank you.

They don’t need to apply for compassionate entry if they are already approved for a TRV. They must have a quarantine plan which is even more important due to your wife being pregnant (pregnant woman are at very high risk of severe covid complications). If you have a basement with a bathroom they can quarantine there or else they will need to stay in an Airbnb for 14 days.

Thank you for your response. Yeah we have a basement where they can quarantine. When you say quarantine plan, do you think they need something written from me?
And about compassionate entry, is that a new/different category of application all together?

so that means you never applied throught IRCC portal portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en . Actually I have applied through this portal in June 2021 and still did not get any response . what do you think should I need to reapply or still need to wait with existing application.

The link you sent me is showing temporarily unavailable. But yeah it's not where I applied from. I had pending application which I applied on June 14 and I reapplied again using the same GCkey account: https://clegc-gckey.gc.ca/j/eng/l?ReqID=s29a46d87520ee3361d51723a0f16e8831d9f9271f
Looks like cic is still suggesting to reapply if your situation has changed(if your application was submitted before September 7,2021)or if you are planning to come to Canada for one of the reasons stated in the link.

Hope this helps.
