Passport request for Super visa while visiting Canada

Hi, I received email yesterday from VAC confirming that my passport received and submitted to IRCC for stamping
I just received the email that my passport received from IRCC and handed over to courier company for return.

I am expecting to receive it next week Tuesday. I will update you once i get it.

Hi, I received back passport with super visa stamped on it. Totally it took only 6 days for the whole process that includes delivery and transit time.

Quick question:- When you sent passport to NY vfs, what documents did you sent along with passport? And when your parents came to Canada on a regular 6 months visitor visa did you informed IRCC that now your parents is in Canada?

1. Original Passport
2. Passport request letter
3. TT Services Consent Form, Download it from [https://visa.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/can/passport-submission]
4. Money Order of $22.20 USD. I got it from TD Bank. Addressed to: VFS Services (USA) Inc. Make sure it is in USD.
5. I also sent a explanation letter and included my home address and email address.


You don't have to inform IRCC if your parents are in Canada and In order to activate the Supervisa , they have to exit and re-enter on Supervisa.

My question is: could you please provide sample explanation letter which you had sent along with passport?
If you can provide me that would be really appreciate. I have only 15 days left now to send the passport.

Hello All,

I recently sent my mom's passport for Super Visa stamping to Los Angeles from Calgary, Canada. I followed the below steps.
1. An explanation letter to the embassy about my mom's situation.
2. Took a money order of $21.70 USD from CIBC in the name of VFS Services (USA) Inc.
3. I used the UPS courier service to send my mom's passport.
4. you need two envelopes: the first one to send passport to VFS and second one to be used by VFS office to send back the passport (Canada UPS will not offer 2-way service)
5. In the first envelope, I Kept the Passport, Money order, Explanation letter, Passport request letter and Second envelope, This envelope should be attached with return label (VFS will use this envelope to send back passport)

Sent on: December 5, 2023
Received on: December 12, 2023 (with Super Visa stamp)

The next step is to cross the Canadian border and activate the super visa

Hi,

My parents came to Canada in July on Tourist visa.
We applied for supervisa while they were in India before coming here.
It got approved in Sep, while there were staying here in Canada for 6 months on Tourist Visa.
We got supervisa stamped on passports by sending those to LA, USA(Due to stamping condition of not being done within Canada)

Now we have stamped Supevisa on Passport. Do we need to flagpole at boarder or visit some other other and come back to activate Supervisa or not?

Kindly advise.

For reference for anyone looking for it, I am providing explanation letter I used which was Addressed by my father. Feel free to tweak that for your case.

Letter below:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to formally request the stamping of my wife, , and my Super Visa in our passports. We are Indian citizens currently visiting our daughter in Canada on a visitor visa.

We arrived in Canada in early July and have recently received a passport request for a Super Visa stamp. Due to our advanced age and health conditions, we are unable to travel to a visa application center to submit our documents in person.

I have enclosed all the necessary documents, including:

• Passport request letters
• Bank drafts for Package Transmission
• Both passports
• Any additional supporting documents

Additionally, I have included a return envelope with our current Canadian address for the return of our passports once the visa has been stamped.

Please process our visa applications as soon as possible and return both passports using the enclosed return envelope. If any additional information or documentation is required, please let me know.

Only question I have now is:

But parents entered Canada on Tourist visa in July and us per that entry can stay only for 6 months.

Hopefully that letter was not to IRCC. Highlighting their medical issues and their advanced age as the reason they can’t fly to LA not a great idea as a visitor to Canada who expects them to return home. As already stated have to leave and reenter Canada to initiate the supervisa. Also must be able to qualify for a 1 year supervisa insurance policy every year to retain visitor status on a supervisa. Many don’t consider if health status changes or a large claim they may not be able to secure supervisa the next year or the policy may be prohibitively expensive. Just like other visitors supervisa visitors are expected to go home if they run into chronic health issues. The increase in the potential length of a supervisa has given many people the false impression that their parents can permanently move to Canada.

1. I checked with bank, they only make bank draft.
Is it same as money order ?
because money order is made by Canada post/ Western union in CAD only.
Since, it has been mentioned in different posts to send the fees in USD only,
so that is only possible at bank which make bank draft not money order.

2. I need to get stamping for both of my parents.
so do i send two separate courier packages or both passports in one package ?

Please reply asap.
