Just got my PPR by e-mail... BEYOND excited! One small problem :( :( :(

I am taking a trip from October 23 to November 7 and they're giving me until November 10 to "submit passport". I doubt I will get my passport back in 15 days... but will it be to late to mail it November 8???

Thank you!

Gosh I am soooo happy for you girl. All those struggles are coming to an end. Can't believe we just talked about all the hard times not long ago. Little bit jealous but so overwhelmed with joy for you. I know this has not been an easy ride at all and if it is one person that deserves it, it would be you. Keep me posted on everything. Hope to hear from you soon.

P.S. Sorry I can't help you with your question dear but just had to unleash my excitement.

Where are you located? Buffalo issue visa same day if you go in person.

November 7 would be too late. I would sent the passport. Its better to delay/cancel the trip rather then getting refusal for the application.

Or you can email/call them and tell them your situation. May be they would help you, and may extend your deadline. You never know.

Good luck

Thank you for your advice. (+Love_Young = AHHHHH! We'll talk!)

I would have just cancelled the trip, but this is our very first anniversary and I just don't want to miss it. I'm thinking about going from October 23 - October 31, that should be enough time to send in the passport by the 10th.

My other question is I have pictures from May 5, are recent photos good for 6 months? Would November be the 6 month? Do I need new ones?

I think it says no older than 6 months. So if November is the 6th month, I think it would still be ok. But cant be older than 6 months

As long as you use a next-day guaranteed courier service, I can't see a problem sending it on the 8th (which is a Monday). It can't be regular mail though. e.g. Fed-Ex same day or priority overnight so it's guaranteed to be there on the 9th.

Send it tomorrow by same day courier and include a return overnight courier envelope and a note saying you are going out of the country and could they please send it back in the courier envelope... you have more time between now and when you leave then when you get back and have to have it submitted.

Thank you very much everyone. I am going to visit him from Oct. 23 to Oct. 31 or Nov. 2. Then I will use USPS to next-day express mail with a next-day express mail return address. Then I can guarantee it will arrive by Nov 10.

I have a couple more questions about the passport request. They're asking me to send three photos, I have them from May 5 which should still be okay. Do I need to write my name on the back? And I just put my passport in a 9 x 12 envelope with my name on it inside of the envelope I'll be using to send... with my barcode on everything? And a piece of paper with my name, dob, bar code, height & eye color goes... where? For all the things I've done with this application, nothing seems to be more confusing than the PPR!! ???

Congrats nyssa and why aren't you driving down next week before you go on your trip?

Thanks Allison! I don't really have a car, I'm flying.

Where do you live? I thought you were in Toronto area? If you are you want me to drive you?

Congratulations for your PPR, nyssa! Your file processed really fast, I'm happy for you! :)

OMG Congrats, Nyssa!!! I've been busy moving back to Canada so I haven't been online much, but holy camoley!! That was fast!!!!

Allison, you are too sweet! I am not in Toronto, I am in the US. Thank you everyone. I'm glad this plan seems to be good! Anyone who mailed their passport have any advice on how to package it? (How many envelopes within the envelope...)

I put my pictures in a small white envelope (with a barcode on it) along with the passport (which had a post it note on top with the height & eye color with a barcode on the post it note) and put those in an express mail 9x12 envelope. I also prepaid for another 9x12express mail envelope and folded it half and put it inside so that it could be quickly mailed back.

I got my visa back in 6 business days :)
