I was told that when going for my medicals, I will need to take my passport with me. Since it is expiring in 9 months, should I get another one to take it or I can take the one I have now, and when they request my passport for visa stamping, I send a new one?

Thank you.

Hi,

Mine will expire on Dec 2010...I'm done with my medical last Feb 2010 and haven't had any issue on it...Fyi.

So, did you take you passport with you went for your medicals? Now, when they request your passport for visa, are going to send the one you have with you or a new one?

Thank you.

If you do not re-new / re-issue your passport, your visa validity would be the expiry date of Passport.

The question I have is if there is any problem bringing my current passport with me to have my medicals done and then, renew it ad when they ask for it again for the visa stamp, I would send the new one.

Cheers.

Why take chances? Better if you get a new one with Tatkal and then do the medicals. Also you can get the new one after medicals, but better if you do medicals with the new one as the old one is going to expire in few months.

They only need your passport during medicals for identification, they dont look at the dates on it. So u can still use ur old passport and renew or get a new passport later.
