Outland applicant from USA who is convinced that the passport is lost forever now. Waiting since March 16. I only wish I could have kissed my passport goodbye before sending it out. Don’t know why they would hold original passports for more than 3 months. I wanna see what thesis they publish on my passport.

Hello. Have you contacted IRCC to confirm they have it? I'm pretty sure they'll return it at some point....
Yeah they acknowledged they have my passport back in May. I have sent them another email. No reply yet. I hope they return my passport with or without stamping and I am frustrated about how disorganized the whole process is.
Do they still collect passports? I thought the process is now a phone call and then COPR issuance.
A lot of us still waiting, since March, were from countries exempt from sending our physical passport...but yes, we had sent photocopies of our passports.
@prasannav6 I am in the same boat. Outland applicant and original passport held since March 10th. They acknowledged back in April that the passport was received but have been non-responsive since then. Please keep me posted if you see any progress at your end
@Rcastoi How are you following up? I am super frustrated and am afraid that I won't be able to travel if there is an urgent need in near future

Sure will do. The wait has been excruciating. That’s 4 months of living in a foreign country without passport. It’s highly stressful. I hope IRCC can empathize a little with our situation and expedite our applications now. Hope to hear something this week!
