In my case (inland applicant), my work permit ends in July. If I don't get my PR by that time, I will have to apply for an extension of my visa (more fees to pay - 250 CAD at least).

"this is business" lol, now Canadian schools are accepting duolingo and moreover,a immigration guy told me that they are giving admission without Language testing and when kids land here,they have to take prerequisites in 1st sem means more money.

So we can keep processing applications from people who are able to travel to Canada, we’re temporarily changing how you can apply to visit, work or study in Canada.

Until May 19, 2020, there will be a suspension in the processing of some applications, and the application process has changed for

• visitor visas (including transit visas)
• eTAs
• study permits
• work permits

According to the update above from May 1, 2020, It looks like IRCC temporarily stopped processing for some applications. Apparently, that affects the processing of visitor visas, eTAs, work permits and study permits. I'm hoping that's not the case for PR applications. However, If you've been following up this forum and immitracker closely, you know the latest updates on approvals were on April 30, 2020.

Did you send from the US? A few 16th March passports from the US were approved last Friday. I don’t think they work on ‘date received’ basis. It’s hard to understand the pattern.

I don’t think they’re working this week. Don’t see any approvals or status changes since last Saturday. And the link above states that application processing is suspended for 2 more weeks. Not sure if it applies to PR applications but my hunch says we are in for a long wait.

I’m in exactly the same situation. Current Visa runs out end of June. My copr (whenever I get it ) will expire in August because that will be 1 year since my medical. I’m just about to hit 2 months waiting for my copr. I sent a web mail yesterday to see what they have to say. Also wondering how we are supposed to activate the copr from inland when there are no boarders open

Yup same here! Sent passports on Mar 13th from US (delivered on Mar 16th) and have been waiting since then.. living in a foreign country without a passport in hand is just crazy!
