Hello,
I've got a somewhat messed up plan, since immigration is like do this and this.
So just in advance I'm telling you my brain is like not connected to each other so I can't think. :)

Anyway, the main question is:
so even if I pass with a 69 with no English marks.
Can they still refuse the application because I have no English marks?

Like that cant' be fair! ask their(immigration officers) parents or great grandparents,
did they have to speak English and get an AEO or apply and wait for like three years?
It seems immigrating to Canada is getting harder and harder.
And they only want profitable people, not just those Regular people.

Thank you.

These days for certain jobs they look for high proficiency in English, moderate is not acceptable. Even if someone is more than 67/100 still they are asking for high proficiency in english.

We in the immigration process cant ask questions regrading the proficiency of earlier immigrants or great grand father of policy makers in Canada.

VO has right to ensure, if the applicant can live self-sufficient in Canada or not. If because of any reason (if vo feels that applicant may not be able to find job because of any reason e.g. lack of national language proficiency), VO has right to refuse application; even if applicant has 67 marks,
I read somewhere on this site in FSW program detail.

You hv to show proficiency in one of the official languages of Canada otherwise your application will be simply refused.Good luck

all applicants are Supposed to demonstrate their skills in the English or French.

ur post here, enunciates u got good command on English.

donno why u chose not to show The proof of ur english (like ielts)?

Hi to everybody,
It is like everyone on this thread has taken Ielts. I am the only one who has not taken this test.

I took the option of a written explanation, because i had my Bachelor's Degree in English language and also i have completed my Master's Degree that was taught in English and i have been eligible to do doctoral studies in English Language. English is my first official language and i also speak French fluently and also able to write. I claimed 4 at all levels of English language as my first language and moderate for my French level.

I have paid continues work experience for 5 and a half years.

I fall between 30 to 49 years

have a masters degree and 18 years of full time studies.

My question is how many points can i accumulate in all.

Please who can help me to calculate my points.

I am just afraid i might not make the 67 points.

Patiently waiting for help.

Canadaforall.

The above post calls for concern. Transparency is the rule of all good games and most importantly showed how developed a system is. A system that changes the goal post while the game is on is not free and fair anymore.

We were told ab initio that the pass mark is 67; so if your score is >= 67 then you pass. Nobody is saying that Canada does not have the right to change whatever rule they feel like changing, however, such rule need to be communicated to the stakeholders. They should take it as a responsibility to place a cavet on their website that henceforth even if you got the required point, English proficiency is a must! that is, a moderate score is not acceptable ce fini. All concern will be aware from the start not when somebody had struggle to do all he could and at a later time one VO would just determine your fate and career within a minute....Really it is absurd and barbaric.

I expected members of this great forum to frown at this. Not because you have the requisite 16 max in IELTS then others can go to hell! NO its not good. May be those that did the IELTS then did it for the completion of their 67 points and not considering the fact that rules may be changed just like that!

Thank you.

The latest trend of hardening the unofficial IELTS requirement is prettymuch the same of what North Kore and Iran is ding to the world. Complete Autocracy.

People got their PR with lower IELTS score in past and they are successfully based and contributing to Canada's economy.

Actually, this rule is not new. This rule has always existed. I remember sending a message to Qorax, Rupeshhari, BobbyB and Leon and all of them agreed that you can get refused even if you have 67 points and low language skills. This they told me on January 4th 2010

I copy and paste some of PMM's reply to my question on whether one can get rejected after scoring 67 points with lesser language points:

PMM said:
Hi

There is no requirement, but CIC/CHC could decide that the 67 points with minimal language skills, doesn't reflect your ability to successfully establish yourself in Canada. Then they would use a substituted evaluation to refuse the application. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf Section 11.3

PMM

I don't know if they require high english score for software developers :-X :-X

I wish someone challenged this new trend of hardening on IELTS in a Canadian Court.

Agreed, infact we mostly used to read FSW guide & consider it as complete piece of information. If u read OP-6 (Operating manual for Federal Skilled worker) avaiable at CIC website, u will find that this rule is not new.

Good luck

Yes, it's a shame...
Just because the parents/grandparents chosen to immigrate earlier shouldn't make want-to-be-immigrants go through hard and lengthy process. No one really owned Canada, it's a people's country... (well maybe this doesn't apply on the natives) but they shouldn't make our process harder... this is a really sad truth.

Thank you,
This issue should be the new "inconvenient truth" by the "Canadian" Algore...lol

So WAIT, has there been ANY PERSON who got refused because they can't SPEAK ENGLISH, even though they got over 67 points?

Wait, why stop with just english, why even have a point system. Why even have borders then? Let every one in.

In fact, most countries were not inhabited at one stage, so why not start petitioning our current governments to have open borders and let everyone in, then we could justifiably ask Canada to do the same.

if this is the case so we should forget Canada, really some of us do anything to reach canada But they are making it harder and harder, then what use of AEO, all knows that if you cant get 67 points so u can get them in AEO, Really this is not fair enough is enough that’s really too much..
