Hi,
If we do a part time job and have a average salary, can we pay the college fees by our own?

College fees No.
Other Expenses easily!

Good luck :)

It is kinda hard to combine both studies and work but as there many people doing it, I would say it is possible.

However, if you have little to no experience, you'll only be getting the minimum wage, and being a student you won't be able to work more than 20 hours per week. Thus, the money earned will barely be enough to cover your living expenses (Food, accommodation, transportation, entertainment...)

Agreed. You'll be making around $200 per week before taxes. Once taxes are taken off, you'll be left with even less to fund your living expenses/tuition.

@ scylla
Do you happen to know exactly how much do international students pay for taxes on their income from a part-time job ?

There are students who would actually work more than the 20 hours a week limit, of course illegaly. Now, even though I have never heard of any student being kicked out of the country for working more hours than they are allocated, its a risk that most students will not take. So suit yourself.

Also, don't forget the fact that you only get your work permit after 6 months of full time studies.

Now, in the summertime, You can work full time without limitation. Some students would do 2-3 jobs during this period to rack up some money.

Most importantly, to answer your question, it really depends on what university you are in and what kind of personality do you have. if your uni charges 20K per semester, then just forget it. But if your uni charges 3-6K, per semester, then its doable.

Also, if you are the kind of the person who needs to keep up the appearances, or worry about what your friends might think when they see you working at hot-dog stand, then again, have someone else pay for your tuition fees.

Dont even thnk dat u will be able to pay the tution fees along with ur living exp with ur part time jobs.

Ur main motive is to study.
Even though u are allowed to work 20 hours per week,u will be nt be able to work full 20 hours as there is also pressure of studies and if u will pay attention u will nt be able to cope up and will fail the examinations.

So dnt hope for the part time jobs to pay the tution and living exp as ur dreams will be shattered.

I am nt trying to be rude bt dis is the truth buddy.

And if u will **not** pay attention

could anyone tell what will be an average expenditure of an international students?
$500-800 per month depending on city and ur lifestyle.
very rough break down
around $200-300 For rent per month if u share apartment ....$150-200 for food u cook at home. If u get a bus pass add another $50 , for the cheapest cell phone plan around $20 per month . miscellaneous expenses $100.
these r very rough estimates....

A student metro pass in Toronto is $108.
