My 2nd line finally appeared today!!! It says we started processing your application on March 31, 2015!!! And I have been checking everyday and it wasn't there until today!

I am so happy to see DL back !!! I saw from the spreadsheet that he gave several PPRS yesterday!!!

My 2nd line finally appeared today!!! It says we started processing your application on March 31, 2015!!! And I have been checking everyday and it wasn't there until today!

I am so happy to see DL back !!! I saw from the spreadsheet that he gave several PPRS yesterday!!!

Dear Babak and Psicolala,

I need your ideas regarding expiry date of international passport for one of my dependents, since you are the ones who faced this procedure.

Me and my family have undergone medical check up on Apr.11th. I assume this is the date which usually used by VO to define the expiry date for immigration visa. One of my dependents (since she is 7months old) has international passport with 1year validity only. Her passport expires on Apr.3rd 2016 which is one week earlier than Medical check up date. All other dependens have sufficient validity for their international passports.

I foresee 2 scenarios taking place:

1. Request to renew her passport in order to prolong the expiry
2. Immigration visa with validity till Apr2nd

My question is about setting right expectation on upcoming action. As you shared, changing already valid passport is a bit challenging both financialy and time wise. I need your kind advise based on your experiences.

Hi Fsasamir!!

I think the date used for the visa is the 3rd line date (medical received). If I were you I would get it renewed to avoid losing time later (for me it took 2 month to get it renewed)

In my case they asked for it with the MR but for Babak I think it was later, so you never know when they could ask.

However, if in your country is relatively fast to renew the passport you could wait to see if they ask for it.

I stayed two weeks in Toronto: opened bank accounts, applied for insurance, rented apartment and set furniture etc. now i am back to finalize some issues. I will move permanently at the end of the month. my wife (she is not the main applicant) already found a job, next week she is starting to work. Everything goes easy for me, and I hope it will remain same.

I had to leave Canada before receiving my PR Card, as soon as I arrived I applied for a "travel document" to be able to go back. I will share the process time for both card and travel document for people planning double trip.

I booked a room on Airbnb, you really need an address in the beginning, even it is temporary. Then you use it everywhere, for PR card, SIN card, then for bank account (they are asking a proof and accepting on line payment receipt of Airbnb or statement of your host). When you get bank account statement with address on it you can get mobile phone number, library card etc. After renting an apartment update all addresses, apply for medical insurance by showing original lease agreement. Thats all with addresses.

Thank you. After renting the apartment, as I understand, you updated the address PR card to be sent.How did you do that? By ECAS or by applying to an office or something?
