Some steps such as the security screening are not included in the 12 months.

Here is what they say on my CIC account :

About 20% of our applications are more complex to process. They take us longer due to things like how easily we can verify information, how well and how quickly you answer our requests and whether the application is complete.

Hello everyone!
I received a updated on ECAS... still no decision made on permanent resident but they request additional information/documents again...

Let's see what is this time...

My application make 12 months on 18th of June.

why so slowly with you some people more fast
I know... but every case is different and depends of the official is take care of your application...

Hi,

I sponsored my 8 years son and his application was processed by Paris Vo. Today we received the PPR. In the letter it is not mentioned to send an empty envelope to receive the COPR. Do we have to send it anyway? Thank you.

So we had a bit of a situation recently;
The queries are in the end.
Summary of the events is:
PA's CoR was Finland
CoB is Pakistan.
PA got her passport stamped with a permanent residence counterfoil and COPR documents in December.
Our whole process was completed within 10 months. We are outland applicants.

PA and Sponsor (Canadian national, lives there too) planned a vacation before landing in Canada together.
PA lost her passport and other identification documents.
PA's Finnish temporary residence permit got cancelled in the process because she informed them it has been lost.

Filed a police report and panicked for 3 days (it was a weekend).

After the weekend, immediately applied for a new urgent passport.
Meanwhile her VO was in London, where the initial counterfoil/stamp and COPR came from.

PA contacted LDNVO via email and they kept on misinforming her about the process.

PA received the new passport within 5 working days.
PA was instructed to send the new passport etc to Madrid, Spain VAC by LDNVO.

Upon recent communication with VFS Global, PA was informed the documents will be sent to Paris VO and not to London VO (as the LDN VO claimed they will be sent to them)

My question is;
how efficient or inefficient Madrid VAC is?
Anyone here any experience with them yet?
What should we do in a situation like this?
Is waiting the only option?
Is there anyone we can contact to fast track things/at least be entered in the Madrid VAC's system? Or
is it all useless at the moment

Anyone have any clues how long Paris VO takes to stamp and send it all back?

Ours is of course a special case, so I am sure it will be a while. But our file hasn't even been processed at the Madrid VAC - that's the frustrating part

Any help would be appreciated at this point

Congratulations on AOR and file transfer! This was our timeline for the spousal sponsorship of my husband. It varies on the type of sponsorship. Spousal takes generally about 1 year. Ours was thankfully a bit less. Some people who applied around the same time as we did finished in about 8 months or so. It really all depends on the officer dealing with the case, if there is co-operation from everyone (principal applicants country etc.) for documents when they do background checks, if the principal applicant traveled a lot or has a criminal record and of course the workload of the officer.

I wish you all the best and remember to always remain patient and as hard as it is, try not to compare too much. It is good to see of course but do not think you made errors or it is anyone's fault if yours takes longer than others. There are many factors involved. Just stay positive. Love will win!
