ZENGA, how long does having the Sponsorship Approval take from now on??? When will we be able to see it online???

Just to give you an idea, we received AOR on 17 January and SA on 28 January. The online status tool is hit and miss. Some people are never able to access it, others can do it a few days after AOR. Don't rely on it as a source of information on your application.

I would say between 2 to 10 BUSINESS days from empirical observations.

Hi everyone. I am from Spain and today my sponsor (spouse) got the AOR. I live in Spain, but I am currently visiting my spouse in Toronto. Our timeline is as follows:

App. submitted: Nov 23th, 2014
App. received: Nov 25th, 2014
AOR: Feb 18th, 2015 (83 days)

So, the mail just says our UCI number and the App. number and that the application was received. It also says that my app status could be checked online, but it does not seem to work properly as an error appeared every time we entered the info required. Is there anyone facing the same problem???? Maybe I am not doing right...another question: does this AOR received today mean that the sponsorship is already approved? All comments are welcome. THANKS for sharing your experiences in this forum. They are extremely helpful!!!

Spain, there is a November 2014 thread and also a spreadsheet, which is very useful in terms of seeing what is going on with other APPLICATIONS submitted around the same time. You can join us anytime you want. I did not see your name on the spreadsheet.

We just got our SA...CIC just sent an email with the SA attached. woo hoooooooo!!!! Here is our timing:

App. received: Nov 25, 2014.
AOR: Feb 18, 2015.
SA and file transferred to VO Paris: Feb 20, 2015.

Hi guys,

we received an email saying our visa is ready to be issued.

We are very happy. This is for tunisia. My wife is abroad and we cannot send the passport for a third party to submit and pi k up the visa as tunisian law forbids sending passport by mail.

I guess she would have to go home asap to pick it up.!

Zenga, so…did you receive that mail from Paris VO???? so soon!!! isn´t it???? what does it say exactly? Could you please your timing information???? thanks in advance.

Yes it took 4 months. ;D

Everything was submitted up-front. Straightforward application but not visa exempt country...

Visa Office......: Paris
App. Filed.......: 16-10-2014
AOR Received.: 23-12-2014
File Transfer...: 10-01-2015

In-process: Feb 7

Received an email that visa is ready to be issued on Feb 18 and have 30 days to do so. Ecas updated to Decision made few days after.

Got an email from them on Thursday asking for additional information. Ecas status changed to In Process today.

MissRepresentation, what kind of additional information did they request? I see that in your case it took less than a month to get news from them since your file was transferred. Am I right? THANKS.

They wanted some additional details about my address history and also requested a police certificate from a country where I lived a few years ago.

But, didn´t you send that info when you filed your initial application to Mississaugua altogether with the Sponsorship???

Not really, it depends on which country is issuing the police check. In some cases you send the police checks with the application, in others you have to wait until the visa office asks for them. In my case I needed 5 police checks from different countries, but we got sponsorship approval having sent only 3 of those certificates.
