congrats to everybody who had a good experience with the Paris office. As for us, we had an interview on june 20th and have not heard nothing till now. 3 days ago i send a case specific enquiry because this waiting is was so hard and 2 days ago they send us the refusal letter. that is over 3 month after the interview. I wonder how much longer would they take if i did not send the enquiry.

i am appealing this one. at least there will be many people there present so they can not twist everything like in the interview. i believe we can win. I feel my husband loves and i have no doubts that we have a real relationship. It is true that his english needs some work...and also i think he is a bit shy and polite so the vo totally embarrassed and humiliated him in that interview. but i feel that with a little help from somebody who has experience in this matter we can win this. and if we loose then i still have option to go and live there and then decide if i want to try again or not. its just sad that the government of canada while claiming all this strong stand on equality, human rights and all that is discriminating against us because i am older than my husband.

well, they wrote that its because our relationship does not follow the usual cultural norms, they wrote he has to use google translate to communicate with me (he told them when we first met he did, i just returned from visiting him and he has not used any translate and we were fine, i would say for the past year he has not used google translate while we talk everyday on skype), they wrote he wants to came here to continue his education and economic advancement...he has education and i remember specifically him saying he does not want to study here...lol..education here is expensive, in his country its free
and of course the main reason i am sure because i am older than him.
well all i can say be so careful what you say people if you have any red flags, because they can twist things. He said she sneered at him and ridiculed him and i am sure she had a mind set because of the age difference before he even walked into the interview.
Also i just checked the ecas...lol she said the started processing our application on Oct1 , over 3 months after the interview and we got the refusal letter on Oct2.

Terribly sorry they refused you over something so inconsequential. Doesn't make much sense that they refused him for language reasons considering how many claim to speak no english here in BC.

its ok, thanks for your kind words. well i am pretty sure she wanted to refuse before , because of the age difference so she found some silly reason...ah now just hope the appeal goes better than that interview. I am also in bc and i know what you mean lol.

When you say "application accepted" under interview, what do you mean?

The VO said, "I accept your application" and gave my husband back our relationship evidence.
Probably so she didn't have to mail it back. It was pretty heavy!

We submitted an extra pile at the interview.
In that we had a few extra photos of gifts we had given one another (we had forgotten to include that in the original application)
She went through those and only kept our updated versions of the relationship history (we had written letters about what we had been up to in the year since we last saw each other)

After she interviewed my husband she was satisfied with our application and gave back everything aside from those two relationship history letters.
I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know if we really got back everything or not.

Passport was dropped off on Sunday at the VAC in Algiers.
It should be at the Paris office today.
Just got Decision made within the last couple of hours, but I don't know if that means they got the passport or if they're just updating from the PPR

We will be able to pick it up tomorrow inshallah

Ah ok, because VO told my hubby to keep all of the additional proof he brought. But they kept all the documents and proof originally submitted, save for two pics that she gave back to my hubby...We have not yet received any of the originals back and, by now, 8 months later, I do not think we will be ever getting it back - which is all good because we had made copies of all the documents and other prints of all the pictures.... A bit of extra money spent, but well worth it!
