Ah.. yeah, I wondered if we would get our stuff back too.
I think if it wasn't handed over directly we might not have.
That thing was so heavy, it would have cost them a lot to send it all back!

We got the Visa on Wednesday.
My husband will be here next week inshallah.

I should probably get another pile of paperwork ready for him.
All the fun "after landing" stuff.
Might as well while we're used to filling out forms.. ::)

Happy to know he landed! You are from Ontario right?

Ah yes more and more documents to fill, lol!

Decision made! :D

Congratulations!

It's nice to hear that your process went so quickly - my spouse submitted his application about the same time as you, only Inland. If we'd done it Outland, we'd have it already. We're now considering pulling it and resubmitting Outland.

it'll go much faster in the outland category, especially if he's from a visa-exempt country!

Have many of you received updates from Paris? We are finding we have little information or updates compared to some other VO.

Does anyone know the average time for applications from countries that are not visa exempt? The countries who are visa exempt seem to go faster.

And has anyone been asked for biometrics?

Thanks.

We had our parental case through Paris, and we're not from a visa-exempt country at all.
But it was still fast. First email came from Paris was just an acknowledgement that application is received by cic.

Then it was quick, and all through email.

In our case,

Biometrics were not asked as it was PR category.
Within a few months routine cases should be done mostly.

A lot of it also depends on how organized and easily explainable your application/documentation is. And that everything is provided right on time.

I doubt if more paperwork is necessary. Now its just the little things like opening an account in bank, applying for health coverage, driver's license, SIN, etc. The toughest one is applying for jobs, lol

He is - so fingers crossed! Just sent in the withdrawal request yesterday.

Passport received!!
We'll finally be reunited in the new year :)

There hasn't been much activity on here in quite a while so we thought we would update. Paris is a very difficult VO to get information about! Here is our timeline:
Applied: Aug 13, 2014
Document request: September 10, 2014
AOR: received September 16, 2014
SA: October 8, 2014
File transfer: October 8, 2014
File "in process": December 20, 2014
PPR: January 13, 2014
Visa in passport: done in person January 14, 2014
Landing: January 16, 2014

I hope that this helps. Good luck to everyone who is still in process.

Wow... 5 months! This is wonderful to hear. My husband and I are just about to submit everything... for the second time. We withdrew his Inland in November. This news, and the news that the processing times for Inland are still ridiculous, makes me feel we absolutely made the right decision.
