Parents Visitor Visa

Hello members,


I created an IRCC portal account in the name of my father to submit the visitor visa application from his account. I came across the question below and am not sure whether to say Yes or No. My mother will also be in the application.

* Are you applying on behalf of someone else? (required)If you're preparing an application for someone else, you're a representative. To be someone's representative, you must provide the right forms to show you have their permission to handle their application for them.

1. So should I say 'yes'?

2. Since I am completing the application for them (from the account I created for my father) who is the representative here? My father or I?

The account is on your father's name. To not make it complicated, I had done as if my father is doing it. I didn't mention as representative. I said no. Your father is not a representative, he is the applicant itself, others are coapplicants.

Oh Ok, So my father is not a representative of my mother? Instead, my mother is just the co-applicant?

I am applying for my parents visitor visa ( its a normal visa not super visa). As part of visa application I have to add letter of invitation also in the application

I have one doubt in letter of invitation which is as below

Query :-
I should be addressing the letter of invitation to the visa officer or personally to my parents

For e.g. if to the visa office

Letter of Invitation Sample:

Date, 201#

High Commission of Canada
Immigration Visa Section
City, Country


LETTER OF INVITATION – Full Name of applicant

or

it should be personal one on one letter from me to my parents inviting them to visit canada.

I got confused with these wording on cic website which is as below

' The letter must be written to you from your family member'

Letter of invitation

No (optional) – visa application

A letter written by your family member in Canada. It can confirm that your purpose for visiting Canada is valid.

A copy of the letter from the family member inviting you to Canada. The letter must be written to you from your family member. Consult details to include in the letter

Submit with visa application

Yes, do the application from your father's perspective. Your mother is his family member. There should be an option to add more members to the same application

It is a letter to visa officer that you are inviting your family to Canada, including your details and their purpose of visit, etc.

For temporary visitor visa, multiple entry, what is the length of stay? Will it be maximum 6 months at each stay or maximum 6 months for the whole duration of validity visa?

It will be 6 months for each stay not 6 months for the whole duration of the validity.They can leave and come back again to stay for another 6 months.

My Dad is not adopted but there is no option to select that he is NOT adopted. The only way to go forward with the application if the box is checked next to I don't know who my parents are. But putting a tick in that section means it's incorrect. Obviously my Father knows his parents (although deceased).

What should we do here?My grandparents are my father's biological parents. They didn't adopt him or any thing.

It has just mentioned that if you are adopted you have to provide legal parents name. It means if you have biological or legal parents give their name. You shouldn't check that box

Hello members, I have applied for my Dad's visit visa in May 2021 and he is done with Biometrics in June 2021. He still didn't get any letter from IRCC for passport submission. Is anyone in same situation? I have done web enquire a couple of times but got a same generic reply to check status online. Please help me what to do next?
