My parents are visiting me here in USA. They want to visit Canada.

If they apply for visa together and mentioned that spouse will be accompanying in the visa form, then visa application information says that Marriage certificate should be submitted.

Their marriage certificate is back in India and they do not have a copy with them now.

If they apply together without marriage certificate, would they get visa or would it be good idea to submit separate applications for each parent separately.

My mom is housewife and no work history, so I was concerned about applying individual tourist visa for each parent.

Any suggestions would help please. Thank you in advance.

A scanned copy of the marriage certificate can be submitted.

If the marriage certificate is not available.... then the relationship between the parents can also be proved by the son/daughter's birth certificate.... and the passports (parents + son/daughter) for their visa applications

Have your parents visited the US earlier?

Thank you for your response.

My parents have visited USA before and are now in USA with me. They do not have marriage certificate available here and no one is home in India to send a copy to us.

They have their names on each of their passport listed as spouse. Would that be OK along with my birth certificate and my passport copy?

As your parents have visited the USA.... in the last 10 years, correct?.... they can apply for TRVs under the Can+ program.... they must provide entry/exit stamps for previous US visit(s)

Can+ requires fewer documents.... processing times are much faster.... the application form is the same as the regular TRV.... however, they must mention they are applying under Can+ and list their previous US visits

It is not necessary to submit a marriage certificate.... if their passports list them as each other's spouse..... plus you can submit your birth certificate and your passport copy too

Cheers :)
