No you don't. There is no such requirement frok Canada

That might be true, but do note that some airlines won't even accept you unless you have a return ticket because in the event that you are denied entry into Canada, the airline would have to pay the cost of flying you back home.

I agree. Also, while it's not required, a return ticket can be part of what would satisfy a CBSA officer that the person will return at the end of his/her stay. It depends on the situation and the individual CBSA officer. I've successfully flown into Canada without a return ticket and asked for 3 months of entry. I had sufficient ties to my home country at the time and I'm visa-exempt though. I didn't go through a secondary inspection, but the officer I encountered did ask a lot of questions.

My mom came to Canada on one-way ticket while holding supervisa and had no issues with CBSA what so ever but she did face issues at the checkin counter for not having a return ticket in year 2012. They weren't giving her the boarding pass because she was only holding one way ticket but it was due to their lack of knowledge about Super visa rules at that time.

If your parents are planning to come for a visit for more than 8 months then no airline can give you a return ticket for that long validity.

Exactly, Canada won't give you problems, I actually asked a boarder security agent earlier this year and he said of course you don't need a return ticket, the visa is for 2 years and you can't buy a return ticket for 2 years time... I said the airline sometimes doesn't let you board with a one way ticket... he said it's commonsense, it's a 2 year visa. SO, Canada isn't the problem, it can be your airline tho.. my mum has had arguments at check in before and had to by a flight before they'd give her her boarding pass, that was without a supervisa tho, so we're hoping this time will be different...we're not buying a return ticket that's only going to get cancelled...

No need for return ticket as super visa gives you up to 2 years continues stay and airlines don't allow more than 1 year.

my mom came here on super visa and we had only one way ticket for her.. no problem at all.

No. Not even for people with student/work visa.
