The e-cas showed the third line 'medicals have been received' on the 31st of December 2014.

I e-mailed CIC about the time span and they replied with notifying that the file is in process, and that it's not possible to specify a time for the final decision.

In the email I got it said: "Your visa(s) will be ready within 5/five working days from the date your passport(s) reaches the Embassy."

We delivered the passport in person on a Friday, received a phone call the following Tuesday saying it was ready, and it was delivered by courier on Thursday.

This was through the embassy in Kiev. Best to check with people who have experience at the visa office you are dealing with.
