Same here! Just today submitted gcms online request for the first time, will see what work they have done so far on my file. By the way, couple of days ago, immigration minister had announced Canada will bring in 285000 immigrants in 2015 under live in caregiver program and probably skilled worker. Hope they issue more parents visa as well.

The 2015 levels plan reaffirms the Government of Canada’s commitment to bringing families together, by maintaining a high level of admissions space under the Family Class category. Reuniting immediate family members continues to be Canada’s first priority under the Family Class immigration stream, and with this year’s plan, Canada will welcome up to 68,000 new permanent residents in this category. By prioritizing applications from spouses, partners and dependent children, Canada continues to have the most generous family reunification program in the developed world.

This level of admissions would maintain the current rate of backlog reduction in the Parents and Grandparents category and assure the continued progress that began under the 2011 Action Plan for Faster Family Reunification. By the end of 2015 it is expected that backlogs will have been reduced by more than 70 percent.

Highlights:

Planned admissions under the Family Class category will be maintained for 2015.
Up to 48,000 spaces for sponsored spouses, partners and children will be available.
Up to 20,000 spaces for Parents and Grandparents will be available.

Hello everyone,

I would like to try sponsoring both parents and wanted to know the following:

1) do I submit just one application for both of them or need to submit two applications separately?
2) if only one application is required, do I submit 2 IMM008 (General Application form) for each of them or just submit one, for my father as general application, and list my mom as his spouse who will be coming with him to Canada?

Thanks a lot!

One application for principal applicant (i.e your father), Your mom will accompany him as spouse... And so do your sibling's if they are under 22 yrs (unmarried and depandant).
The same goes with IMM008 (General Application form), List your mom and sibling's in single form..

I am applying for PCC for my mother and dependent sister. My sister studied in Malaysia and I have applied online for her PCC. She is currently studying in USA since Jan 2014. USA PCC process seems to be long and complicated. Anyone has any idea how to proceed with this?

Hello
the State she is residing, tell her to go to nearest police Precinct and they will do it for her. I lived NY for a while and I have done it that way but that was about 14 years ago.
Now I have done it for my mother and this time I got her finger printed from an authorized fingerprinting agent from Manhattan and sent to FBI directly and two months after it came directly to my Canadian address. hope this helps.

Hello!

I am a Canadian Citizen and am currently working on collecting all the documents to sponsor my parents (Under Family Class) for 2015. One big concern I have is that my parents (currently residing in India) do not have a birth certificate. I have mine. Has anyone encountered this problem and what have you done to resolve it. My mom does have some school certificates that have her dad's name on it. And my dad was a pilot in Indian Air Force. Please advice.

Also those who have successfully been able to sponsor your parents from India - What documents did you submit besides the ones listed in the document checklist) (eg- voter's card, Aadhar card...etc.)

one of my cousin, her parents got medical request 2 months after the file was transfer to new Delhi. It was in 2013. Within 6 months they got their visa and they were 3 members too. Hopefully you will hear soon from them.

thanks Kgill :)
and but in mine case already 6 months passed and my brother already did b.tech in 2013 and now doing MBA & in June 2015 his MBA 'll complete so
actually we want visa before June 2015 so he don't need to do further study to remain him

becoz the letter I got from new delhi says that we can make enquiry only after regular processing time.

Does Sponsorship application affect parents ability to obtain Visa? My Parents already came here 3 times .. I am planning to apply for sponsership in 2015 .. I am just worried this could affect their ability to re-new their visa while sponsership application is in process? Any Idea?

No need to worry. A sponsorship application can have an affect on obtaining a visa: probably would make it easier.
