Congratulations! :) No, the dependent can arrive to Canada any time she wants, but the main applicant (your mother) should be present during her landing at the airport when she arrives.
Thank you a lot for your replay. Would you know any official website where I could read about it. I just want to be a 100% sure as once we get the airline tickets, we can not return them. Thank you a lot.

Help Help!!

My aunt had applied for myself and family since in 2009 January in Canada. Additional documents was requested in March 2012 and was sent to her in March 2012. We are here in Guyana and received a AOR letter in February 2013. The Online application status update is Application Received.
We haven't got any letter for medical as yet. Our visa office is Trinidad and Tobago.
Can u guys assist me on whats happening??? :(
Try to contact your visa office and ask them the status. I had to contact our embassy twice, they did respond to me within a few days. Good luck!

dependent needs to be with prime applicant when entering canada, as they are part of the file.
the immigration is done at immigration office inside the airport before officailly enterring canada, how can the prime applicant enter inside if the dependent comes later, its like prime applicant standing in the airport parking lot.
best thing call CIC in canada.
buy travel insurance on air tickets then you can do whatever.

I can try to find the link for you. But for now I am just saying from my experience. When I got PR status I was in Canada and my children were in the country of their residence as they had to finish their school year. They came to Canada a few months later with my Mother. I met them in the Toronto airport and completed the landing for them.

It is quite possible for dependents to arrive later. Here's an "unofficial" link (see Question 6 in the faq:
www.canadavisa.com/canadian-immigration-faq-landing.html

In the "official" video (some time after the "documents to bring" section, they talk about family members arriving after the PA).
www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/multimedia/video/settlement/before.asp

HI everyone!

we just got letter from embassy today. The visas for my mom and sister are ready to be picked up!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy! ;D
Now I have a question. Does a dependant have to arrive to Canada together with main applicant? My mom she wants to come here asap, meanwhile my sister (dependant) has to finish some business and would come a month later.
Is it possible or do they have to land together at the same time?

Principal Applicant must land first. Dependent can accompany, or can come later, as desired

I sent it only self address labels

I see your Local Visa Office is Islamabad.
Did you send the labels with Pakistani address (of your sponsored persons) or your Canadian address?

Thanks!

I sent with the Pakistani address. Thats what I understood from the checklist. They wanted in english as well as native language which is urdu. In canada, other than english/french we cant use the urdu labels.

What are the additional documents that they ask for? When did you apply? I applied in 2008, but still didn't receive any request from them. I had addrress change few times but I always send them change of address letter.
