Hey guys can you plz advise on how long would it take for me and my family get through with everything after receiving a mailed letter
stating the UCI number as well as the file #?
its a one page letter that received since in February 2013. After that letter we haven't received any other letter

What did the letter state? Was it acknowledgement of receipt of application?
Timeline for Sponsorship (Parents and Grandparents) is available from CIC website.
There are two steps with their own timelines:
1. Assessment of Sponsor (performed in Canada by Case Processing Centre (CPC) Mississauga)
2. Assessment of Relative (performed in the country of relative's residence by applicable Local Visa Office)

Are your Mother and sister with you here in Canada? If yes, and they have the authorization (visa or extension of stay) in Canada valid for a year, then you can choose Ottawa as a processing center otherwise you have to choose Islamabad.

My sister does not have a Canadian Visa, but my mother is coming to Canada this week on Super Visa. I asked CIC they said it would be fine. The only question I have is about the processing, if its quicker through Islamabad or Ottawa?

Its a letter of acknowledgement of receipt. My aunt in Canada sponsor us and were are here in Trinidad and Tobago. We already sent the
additional documents that requested since in March 2012.

After that letter your application proceeds to stage 2 processing. Stage 2 processing will take couple of few years (CIC site says approximately 27 months):

wow!!! so long? i thought that it takes five years from the time the first application was sent in.
first application was in jan 2009
additional documents was requested in march 2012
additional docs was sent in april 2012

and now we got this letter stating that they received all documents and our stuff has been processing
and that within the few months we have to wait we should look up om places in canada and employment and so

If there is dependent, I feel ( regardless of your mom being in Canada for Supervisa and you picking CPP-O ), your file will goto Islamabad. There are very rare cases of files from Pakistan going to CPP-O anyways

Where is the file? Ottawa or your home country and when did they apply

i do not know where is the file.
She applied in 2009 january. Then they requested additional documents e.g the imm0008 forms and copies of passport etc. in march 2012.
We sent those documents march 2012 last year
then we got this only letter from them stating the file number and UCI number

When i tried the online application status i cannot access anything even though i put in the file number and UCI number :'(
