Hi User828
They are looking for information back to my mom's 18th birthday! She is in her seventies now. She started travelling to Canada in 1992 - so that would be close to impossible to reconstruct (we are visa exempt). They were happy with the past 10 years we provided (from 2002-2012), where we just indicated "retired" - they are now just asking for the 50 years prior to that. So, I am somewhat reluctant to putting down every trip.
Thanks again....much appreciate your input!

I was in similar scenario but did provide all details prior and input more for the "retired" part, I would give every info I can remember, just don't leave gaps
If you were visa exempt then its probably different as we have stamps on passport so have to mention but still I wouldn't leave any data
Let them have it

That's very helpful! Thanks. So you added info even to the latest 10 years - I'll get my mom to compile what she knows and add it. Good point, even if something is missing, it's better than nothing perhaps. Do you think that repeated trips to Canada could prompt a more detailed background check? I am guessing they do that anyway (and so they should!), but we are hoping to get this wrapped up before the meds expire (in a month!) and I know from the MP enquiry that the background checks have not been done yet. They made it very clear in their correspondence that the meds will not be extended.

Yes, I did add proper info for last 10 years, I was worried that since they never asked me travel forms, I had to put it as passport reveals all. I was infact worried that they might take it as misrepresentation but nothing of that happened
They do background check for Canada even for a single trip and its pretty quick, my notes said "Batch sent to RCMP", 2 days later RCMP - No Reportable Trace found
Folks are here currently since June 2012, previous visits of 18 months, and 5 others previous visits ( all in last 10 years )

Thanks for your reply. User828

But question here is do we need to calculate this according to the time when we applied for sponsership or we have to calculate it according to the present scenerio(I mean present age of dependent or age at the time of sponsership applied).
Please help

Sumi, sorry, could you re-post your original question/concern.

I hope others with dependents also reply to this but from what I understand ( if under 22 at time of sponsorship then just needs to be single, dependent ) and if over 22, has to keep studying and single/dependent

I will request kandel to reply here as well

Sumi if you are talking about school/ college certificates or college/school letters of your dependants answer is you have to send recent information.

But their age is locked so whoever was type A at the time of application in jan 2009 is still type A (note the one who is 24 yrs old send their certificates just to save time incase they ask chances are 50/50) And whoever was type B is still type B. I think you did not read my last post to you.

Hello Shujhat so you were type A. Being under this category you don't have many conditions except not to get married. Nowdays Cic has been very strict towards dependants lately and rejected many. So u r saying that you stopped studying so you could apply for student visa for canada? Why? Anyways now i would def. recommend you to do masters but try to do it in your field if you can cuz we have seen cases where dependants chose different paths and for that they got rejected. cic they were just to come to Canada which is total BS its none of cic's business anyways You do masters now thats it. Even though you r type A cic can still ask for study documents. The only concern is the gap you have between 2012-2013 you have to come up with some ideas incase cic ask for it most likely they won't but they can ok good luck.
