There are few of us in the same situation

1) Meds can be done anywhere, so just take them to the doc and they will know it

2) Apply for birth Certificate from Indian Consulate, VFS in Canada depending on where you are - they are quick and you can send those other docs like school marksheet ( yes, only has fathers name ). Certify copies of Old Indian Passport showing names of parents

3) Mother of all issues - FedX etc says can only mail to "Embassies", Delhi LVO says it's illegal so you take a chance to mail it with Indian Return Address or request someone to take the PP to India and have it returned the same way

user828 Thank you very much for the useful information you shared. Though I am a Canadian citizen, does the VFS of Indian Consulate help in getting the birth certificate indicating the parent's name on it.

Congrats hmadra.... There are a total of 8 people (CPP-O) who have received PPR and are waiting for visas. So there could be a lot of green records in coming days.

Thanks for that info Raj. I am just loosing patience yaar. It's such a long wait.

Hi user828 your link for the birth certificate shows CONSULATE GENERAL OF INDIA VANCOUVER. B.C. CANADA. Do you have any line for Ontario's Consulate office link.

Although it says

This is not a Birth Certificate but a Certificate of the Date of Birth. Applicants are advised to check the acceptability of this Certificate with the authorities before obtaining this Certificate).

Hmm, not sure how LVO wil see it and another option is affidavit, which you might be able to get it from Notary Public

So If I understand you correctly, you are in India, your mom is in US. You are saying that can she get the meds done there? and you go separately in India
Assuming you have a copy of the request and she has one
Vow, tough call - not sure. I mean I don't see the harm but does CIC need the complete single package for administrative reasons
I would confirm with CIC and/or fax Delhi with this question and request reply via email

Guys I have a question if someone can help me out- who have dependents on their file and ordered GCMS..
Recently, I have ordered GCMS notes, but I was just confused to see they didn't provide my sibling's(dependent) information besides my parents documents as well as application details are there. Even they didn't assign a UCI to him, on the other hand both of my parents have their UCI's. And my file was transferred to ND LVO in June 2012 as case was approved in april 2012.

Just wondering whether I am sensing something bad......! Hope not..
Appreciated.
