I just check the ECAS today and realize that there are two address sections for my parents. One is Current mailing address which is address in India where my parents lives and other section is your current home address and it says Cambridge, Ontario Canada that is the city where we live. My ECAS status is Decision Made. Does that mean its just matter of days before my parents receiving passports with visa stamped?

Many congrats singhnx, passports with visas on its way to ur parents home.....happy for u

The Foreign minister just announced that CANADA AND UK WILL SHARE EMBASSIES IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES. WTH? DOES THIS MEAN MORE LONGER WAIT TIMES? BS

It is expected that, in countries where Canada has a diplomatic mission and Britain does not or vice versa, the two country's envoys will share facilities.

things like these are not simple to implement, probably wont affect us at all as it wont happen in the next few years. even if it does they are planning to combine the workforce of britain, canada, nz and australia. who knows might end up improving the canadian backlog, maybe they might learn from the other countries how to keep queues in check.

Hello friends, can some body provide me with the following information?

1. Does the act of getting subsidized housing affect 'sponsoring parents'?
2. Also please tell me if the government financial assistance was taken 12 months before, can I sponsor my parents now?
3. Does getting a financial assistance also makes me ineligible for super visa?

anticipated thanks for your help.

sponsoring parents for pr has been frozen till 2014.

as per the faq section of super visa

"Who is eligible for a Parent and Grandparent Super Visa? What do they need to do to qualify for it?

Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have been found admissible to Canada and meet some other conditions are eligible for the Super Visa.

Visa officers consider several factors before deciding if the person is admissible. This means they are a genuine visitor to Canada who will leave by choice at the end of their visit. Among the things that could be considered are:

the person’s ties to the home country,
the purpose of the visit,
the person’s family and financial situation,
the overall economic and political stability of the home country, and
invitations from Canadian hosts.

In addition to being found admissible to Canada, the parent/grandparent must also:

provide a written commitment of financial support from their child or grandchild in Canada who meets a minimum income threshold,
prove that they have bought Canadian medical insurance for at least one year to cover the period of time that they will be in Canada, and
complete an Immigration Medical Examination (IME).
"

if financial assistance was taken 12 months before and you can show enough funds to support parents it should not affect the super visa application.

Good News.... My parents just received the passport back with visa stamped.... Visa was stamped with effective date of 09/17/2012. Visa is
valid through 08/21/2013. Good luck to allof you.. ND LVO is moving fast now.. It took 8 months from transfer to ND LVO... so for people with no dependents, it takes about 7 to 9 months to finalize the case...
